You said it's probably the lcd board. Is that the same thing as the light engine?

Actually the LCD drive board is part of the light engine. The light engine is made up of the lamp, ballast, light chamber, fans, lcd drive board, and 3 lcd panels with all optics and lenses included. Most of that is good so you save expense by having only the bad part repleced. Feel free to contact me if I can be of any more assistance, Russmann.

Blue spots like stars on sony wega

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but this is a very common problem on the older sony wega tv's that were rear projection LCD sets. You will see dark bluish corners of the screen. It will get worse and there is no cheap way to fix it. All of these sets have this disease. In some rare cases Sony will repair out of warranty. You probably noticed this soon after you replaced the lamp on your TV. Some of the replacement lamps burn hotter than intended and start melting the glue that holds the light tunnel and LCD panels together to the light engine. In order to fix, you would have to replace the entire light engine assembly.

Sony LCD KF-50WE610 no picture-red light blinking

3 times standby red light blinking shows that lamp cover has not been placed back properly after lamp replacement.
Make sure lamp cover, (the first thing that you removed to replace lamp in tv) is fixed securely then turn tv On.

Broken screen

You did not say what kind of TV you have. LCD or projector. If you have a projector (CRT or light engine) you can get a screen at . If you have an LCD it would probably cost more to replace than a new unit. Let me know how you make out.

TV issue

There are many causes for spots on top of an LCD rear projection tv, you are probably in the first two cases, both require part replacements and repair job.

If the spots are faint blue, green or pink shadows, then it can be a problem with the anti polarization panel placed on top of the LCD.

Similar spots (colored shadows) may be caused by a problem with the light engine, in that case the fix will be expensive.

If the spots are bright lights, like an aura, that is a problem with the color wheel.

Problems on the light tunnel can cause static gray shadows.

If the spots are static dark stains than that is lcd liquid, the LCD panel must be replaced.

The tv is a samsung DLP model sp-50l2hx the plroblem is the tv does not turn on every time and when it does it gives a raster with yellow patch and remote,OSD does not function.

Sounds like you have two seperate problems. First one may be a system control issue, or power supply issue, the second one sounds like a bad light engine and that is expensive! Good Luck!

Syntax olivia 26" lcd tv, getting very thin horizontal lines 2" from top of screen. It started with 1, now there are three lines. What's up?

One of two things. the digital board, or the display is going bad. if the display is the problem it probably is not worth repair. The digital board my not cure the problem an is expensive. If the lines are different colors it my well be the display.
