There is now way to get around the bar code. I have experimented with several other supplier all stating that their inks work and I always have problems. I would recomend upgrading to the new PF3 it's inks are supposed to be much cheaper. I will know more next month when I get mine. Good luck if I can help with anything else please let me know.

I am considering buying the Canon MF8350Cdn and saw on a website review that it will shut down printing when ink is low. This person stated that the cartridge was 1/2 full but it still shut down. Is this...

Your printer is instructed to print only when ALL THINGS ARE WELL with your printer ((proper) paper installed, all cartridges operational, no paper jams, etc.) - because the ink is expensive. If all is NOT well, the printer should not work ... again, because ink is expensive. Your printer does not differentiate between your color print requests and your B & W print requests ... why? Simply because all color cartridges are use all the time when you are printing color and B&W jobs, and your printer has no way of knowing what you are sending until it arrives. Why? Because ink is expensive. Some might say Semper Paratus = always ready.

For optimum results, I always recommend using ONLY manufacturers recommended cartridges, Brother Cartridges for Brother printers, Canon cartridges for Canon Printers, HP cartridges for HP printers and so on. I do not recommend refilling cartridges nor am I a fan of professionally refilled cartridges. For myself, I use only original manufacturers cartridges and I expect and receive the best printing product my printer can produce as a result ... and yes, it is expensive. I am rarely disappointed and if they don't produce, I have a path for redemption. Further, I don't print it unless I need a hard copy which sharply reduces my expense.'

There have been occasions in the past when some cartridges reported they were empty when in fact they still has some ink in them and there are procedures you can follow when this is the case. I don't know there is a general problem like this with your Canon MF8350 (series) printer and neither does someone who posted something on the internet about their specific printer. Pictures are frequently painted on the WWW with a BIG brush - translation, there is a lot of detail left out on a lot of stuff posted on the WWW.

Now then, if there is somehting about your MF8350(series) printer ink use on the Canon site ... that is different. Check it out at www.canon.com/support See what if anything Canon recommends. Before you do all of this, I suggest you go to the Printer folder on your computer (control panel/printers/) and open the specific folder for your printer - explore the options that you will find there. Very possibly, the answer to your quesiton will be found in your printer software - i.e. - resetting ink levels.

Someone will likely come here and refudiate my remarks ... and that is OK. They will tell you only a fool (me) would buy original equipment cartridges and they will tell you about their experience refilling. At the end of the day, neither my nor their exerience means a thing in your case, it is our individual experience.

The very best way to save on ink costs is to be very selective what you send to the printer. Not everything needs to be printed. Also, printers often offer "draft" mode printing which uses less ink (and looks it - it is a draft!). If you NEED hard copy of a lot of stuff, I recommend you find a dot matrix printer which uses a ribbon. While not in wide spread use these days, they are available. Be aware, they print black and white and they are noisy and compared to other printers, the print is 'chunky' and they are a little slow.

I hope I have shed some light on your quesiton, I have tried to help as you asked, and in under 500 seconds. Thank you for your question @ FixYa.com

What,s the cost of the catridge D1560 printer?

Hi,

The cost of the cartridge is as follows:

HP 21 Black Inkjet Print Cartridge - USD 14.99
HP 22 Tri-color Inkjet Print Cartridge - USD 19.99

If you are planning to purchase both the cartridges you might want to go for the combo, which is less expensive.

HP 21/22 Combo-pack Inkjet Print Cartridges - USD 31.99

If you require any further assistance, please comment and let me know, and I will be happy to assist you to further resolve your issue.

I will appreciate your feedback and positive rating for this solution.
Thank you.

C63 epson printer cartrige. I refill the black ink but when I install it, the button indicate red button . I could not print the document. Some of my friends said that I should reset the contact points....

Yes it is so happen, that's the disadvantages of not using genuine ink.... If I were you use genuine cartridges.. and if you were to think to lessen you expense tried to refill it with the people who knows refilling... maybe you just destroy your cartridge... because when you refill it full the tendency is to ruin the cartridge.

51.1 printer error hp lj 4100dn Printer

This error means your laser scanner has failed. This unit contains a spinning mirror and laser. It is used to write the "print" onto the drum in the toner cartridge. Depending on your location this might be an expensive repair. I would estimate it to be around $300 to fix.
The part number for the scanner is RG5-5100 if you want to do some searches. Here is a picture of the unit.

Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.76b22f8.jpg

How come Alignment of Cartridge needs at each printing?

I just go ahead to print and do with what the printer wants me to do. Because I just bought 2 black cartridges, when I use them up, I will buy another printer, different brand, I regretted that I bought Lexmark printer, the ink tube is so little and very expensive. I wish I still had the previous printer . It was still good and new, it has bigger ink tube (1 1/2 times) but the only reason I turned it down, because it was only for printing & copy, it does not have scan or fax which I very seldon use those. Thank you anyway.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, check/clean the encoder strip. This would be the long narrow plastic strip with barcode like markings. Ensure that it is clean, no smudges, ink marks or any paper debris that may obstruct a light sensor passing through it other than the barcode like markings.

Pls post back result(s). Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

My primera sig IV interior red lights stay on...

The interior light is part of the cartridge optical reader assembly and tells you that it isn't recognising the ink cartridge. Either they are the wrong cartridges or the bar code at the bottom of the cartridge is unreadable. Using a cotton bud dipped in a bit of metho wipe around the red and clear led's ensuring you clean the small slot next to the led's (the reader). Also either clean the barcodes on the cartridge, or change the cartridges.

HP A616 photo printer. Cartridge Failed Message keeps popping up

first thing is never mess with the contacts on the ink cartridge carrier. Now that you have touched the contacts they get a film on them and don't work right after that. I had the same thing had to replace the cartridge carrier more than once. Find out how much a new one will be, then if the price more than want you think the printer is worth, you might be cheaper to buy a new printer, but don't indulge in a big expensive one because some of the cheaper ones do just as good as an expensive one and costs less to operate with the same quality. compare the price of ink also if you decide to have to get a new printer.
