Question about Epson Stylus CX5800F All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

No Power Unit will not power on. Called the "help" center, but they said that because it was out of warranty, that I need to buy a new one. Tried unplugging it and replugging back in, but still will not power on.

Sorry, I don't have a way to test the power supply. It will power up, I discovered yesterday, and work after being unplugged for a couple of days, but this morning, I tried to power it on and it wouldn't. So, I unplugged it again, and we'll see if it will come back on later. It is plugged into a power strip with other things plugged into it that work.

I am having the same problem.  It worked two days ago & now won't power on.  And of course my warranty expired already.  I tried moving to different outlets.  Any advise would be appreciated.

Some computer stores can test it for you and probably wont charge for it since it takes about five minutes.

How to get rid of error message OXc 18a0206

Try resetting the printer. First, with the printer powered on, unplug the USB cable. Then lift the scanner unit of the printer by lifting from the front center of the printer until the door locks into the up position. Remove the ink cartridges by squeezing the tabs below each cartridge and lifting up the cover. Then pull out the cartridges. Wait until you see the "Insert ink cartridge" message or a few minutes pass without the message. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer; I like to also unplug the power cord from the outlet as well. Wait 60 seconds (do not wait more than 15 minutes before returning the ink cartridges to the printer). Then plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then the back of the printer. If the printer doesn't automatically power up, press the power button. Reinsert the ink cartridges in the correct slots and make sure the latches are secure. Close the ink access door by lowering the scanner unit. You may need to lift up the scanner unit a bit to let the lock slip. Print a calibration page if prompted to do so.

If the error persists, the unit needs service. It might be cheaper to get a new printer if the all-in-one is out of warranty.

I hope this helps.

(Unfortunately, the Photosmart 3210 doesn't have a user-removable print head. The print head sometimes fails and on other models, you can try a replacement. That's a mixed opportunity - if you buy the replacement and it doesn't solve the problem, you are out the cost of the print head. It's not returnable after installation.)

Why wont my canon mx70 turn on after a power outage

It must have gotten a surge of electricity when the power came back on. Replace with new unit. Buy it with a visa card or master card and it doubles the manufacturer's warranty. they also have extended warranty, just call the number on the back of card.

I don't know what kind of printer you have, but before you consider paying 'an expert' or anyone to fix your existing printer, you might want to consider buying a new printer given the UNBELIEVABLE DEALS for new all in one printers.

I bout an HP Printer/Scanner/Fax from walmart online for $20 and it work just fine.

The replacement ink cartridges cost more (that's the gimmick for the low cost to buy a new printer).

just a thought

If you turn on the printer in the correct voltage, you can call the Samsung and ask to warranty. Now if the printer is off warranty period, test the fuser lamp in the same voltage of the printer.
Take off the fuser, disassemble then take off the lamp and connect two wires in each terminal of the lamp (Fuser lamp works on the same voltage as the printer and is "AC").
Plug the two wires in the power energy. If the lamp is ON, OK!! If not new fuser is necessary.

No power to my printer plug fuse checked and is ok, also tried printer in an alternative socket, still no power.

To fix in a workshop, after doing what you done, and if under warranty we would change the power supply unit thats worth more than the machine, and a pain, if this failed we would change main board..most manufactures of inkjets dont even fix the machines anymore, if they fail they just send us a new one, to replace customers warranty repair... if it was out of warranty is is too expensive to fix, our modern world is throw away..sad but true

The Ox error you are describing is an issue being seen in quite a few hp printers. The only known fix is to try is while the printer is turned on unplug from power source. Unplug the power cord from the back of the unit as well and hold the power button down for 5 seconds to drain any remaining power the printer may be hanging on to. Wait another 30 seconds and plug the cord into the unit first and then directly into the wall - not a surge protector or power strip.

After you have plugged it back in if the error message comes back up then it is a fatal error within the printer. Call hp and see if they have any upgrade units available - usually refurbished but they come with a 1 yr warranty and are significantly cheaper than buying a new unit from the store. They will also take your unit and pay to have it returned to go to an environmental recycling facility.

Both led's are on!

Both LED's usually indicate bad fuser unit. This is common after a power failure or voltage surge. Your unit is out of warranty, and a new fuser will most probably cost you around $90.00 - $110.00. I beleive a new unit will be your best shot.
