Nikon Coolpix 3200 Digital Camera

Auto zoom and won't take photos

posted by snosie on Jul 04, 2008

I have a Nikon 3200, and only 10 minutes after I last used it, I encountered the following issue. When I switch it on, it zooms out to the full 'normal' zoom, then if I touch a zoom button or the photo button, it zooms further. It is impossible to take a photo!

I have tried removing and reinstalling the SD media card, removing and replacing the batteries, switching it on and off, etc... It's well outside warranty, but if someone else has experienced this, or has suggestions, they are most welcome, as I am currently holidaying.
