Please help me,,,, my maytag epic z front load washer
The ccu board went bad, I installed one for a whirlpool washer , wrong one had differnt times,
I finally got the proper one for epic z , I installed it,
on rapid wash it shuts down after about 10 min,
the other cycles seem to be ok, ?
however the water level is wrong , before this all started
the water level was much higher,
now it is only about 3 inchs
is ther a reset deal , or what should I do ,
I think it is still reading from the last ccu board , the wrong one,
I am sick , but really need this washer
do I take ccu board back out then re install?
I need to reset it , but dont know what I am doing

Re: please help me,,,, my maytag epic z front load...
I think you've actually got an uprated control board.
Modern designs allow for less water usage - most in as you say about 3"
Water level is determined in 2 ways #1 pressure - A pressure switch is used with an inverted container low down in the water. As level rises, pressure builds untill the switch opens and the water shuts off.
#2 Time - The valve is only allowed to open for a preset time (to prevent flooding)
If the first board was faulty, the pressure switch probably was being ignored, so was overfilling.
Older models also used more water per wash.
Shutting off after 10 minutes on a quick wash? - if it performs a full cycle in this time, it's working normally. As I said - just updated.
Let me know if there are any defects or faults , otherwise, it seems to be "modernised" by using the new board.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I went through this some time ago with my whirlpool duet washer. I had the service man come out after I replaced the mcu and still did not work. He told me that he had no way to check for sure that it was the ccu but said he thinks that I should replace it so I did and it solved the problem.. I still don't understand why he could not tell me for sure that the ccu was the problem because it cost a lot to order it.
the despair and all of the boards would have been avoided if you got in a qualified technician to properly diagnose the problem first
the only place you will get a schematics from is the service agent or the manufacturer so contact them for what you want
F11 Serial communication error Communication between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the Motor Control Unit (MCU) cannot be sent correctly.
• Check Wire Harness connections to the MCU, the motor, and Central Control Unit (CCU) • Check the Drive system for any worn or failed components • Check MCU • Check CCU • Check Motor • Check Wire Harness
Replace failed component.

The FdL code is saying that the circuit board that runs the washer (CCU board) thinks there is something wrong with the door lock. Often times it's not the door lock but bad connections at the CCU. Whirlpool had some bad quality control with the CCU circuit boards and the end result was cold solder joints at the spade connectors and the relays (there's 5 relays on the CCU board) With this repair you need to remove the circuit board from the inside, top, back of the machine. Mark all the connections before you take them out then remove the entire plastic case with the circuit board inside. At this point you can resolder those points I spoke about or take the board to a good appliance repair shop along with this response and they should be able to help you out. Good luck.
I'm judging you have a whirlpool duet front load washer. The FdL code means the control circuit board (CCU) thinks there is something wrong with the door lock. Whirlpool had some bad quality control with the CCU board and as a result there are cold solder joints on the board at the spade terminals and the relays. These cold solder joints cause bad communications between the CCU and the rest of the machine, including the door lock. If your machine is only 3 months old you should call in for a warentee service repair. Show this response to the service person and if applicable he should be able to repair the board or exchange it. Good Luck.
Thanks for using FixYa. Error F06 in your whirlpool duet indicates that the control is unable to properly detect the motor speed and so the washer shuts down. This usually occurs during high speed spin and the door will be unlocked after 3 minutes. To resolve this issue you’ll have to check the wire harness connections between the Driver motor and the Motor control unit (MCU). If that is fine then check the connection between the MCU & central control unit (CCU), replace the part that has gone bad. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa. F11 is a communication error between the central control unit (CCU) and the motor control unit (MCU). To start with check the wire harness connections between CCU and MCU, and then check the motor. If both of them appear to be working fine then it seems that the MCU of your washer has gone bad as the control unit seems to be working fine. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
Model #MHWZ600TW01, this unit would display an F01 error immediately after the start button was pressed. This error is an EEPROM communication failure of the electronic control board and is an internal failure that basically indicates the washer no longer thinks it's a washer. Since the repair requires the board to be replaced, I installed a new control board and now it has started washing again. A word of caution. Whirlpool has been making a lot of changes to the control boards of their front load washers (yes Maytag too) so make sure you are ordering the correct model using the full model number including the last two digits. If you install the wrong board, you may find yourself trying to fix a self induced problem.
