Model rb17ka-1al food section not cooling but freezer works fine

That is gonna be a bad fan motor up top OR the drain pluggs up and puddles water between the two sections. The freezer works fine but no cold air can get to the fresh section below. Seen it. Thaw here out and yank out the floorboard of the freezer. Clear the drain and oil the fan motor. No parts needed.

My LG refrigerator (LRTN 19320WW) top freezer door ajar when the bottom cooler door closes. I think there is a connecting air tunnel between the freezer and cooler section that when the cooler is shut,...

The doors have tabs that push on the switches that turn the light off when the doors are closed. These doors have not been installed properly. I fixed the problem by shimming the bottom door up using washer at the lower hinge rod. Or yo can tape a bit of plastic to the tab on your door so that it makes good contact with the light swutch.

Fridge section is working fine but the freezer is not getting quite cold enough.

Good day,
You didn't say how long this has been an issue. That would help.
First check to see if you can hear the fan in the freezer compartment running when the machine is on. It's easy to tell, if you open the freezer door. As well. see if there is any frost building up on the rear panel in freezer compartment. If so, then it is not defrosting automatically, and could be a defective timer or defrost thermostat and heater located in the freezer section behind the rear panel.

If that's all good, then on some smaller GE top mounts, there were only one main control. If yours has a freezer damper control, obviously turn it colder. If not turning the main thermostat will allow the whole machine to run colder. Both the freezer and the fresh food section.

Lastly, machines with light usage (less than 20 door openings on the main fridge door per day) will cause the machine to run too little, causing your problem.

Refrigerator section does not cool. Light or LED behind refrigerator control knob does not light so you can not see the current setting. Freezer section works fine as does the freezer control knob light.

these refrigerators are notorious for a bad main/mother-board being bad, especially if recently you had light bulbs have burned out in the refrigerator compartment as this creates a surge on this board and burn the printed circuit trace on the board,it is located in the lower rear of the unit and is housed in a plastic case and if you open the case and look at the board and case there will be a burn spot on the plastic case also

Top refridgerator does not get cold but the bottom freezer works fine

Most of these have a fan that blows the cold air for the freezer into the refrigiator section. If the fan quits running you will experience your problem.

Does freezer cool like the cold food section? Did this suddenly happen, and frozen food began to thaw?  Most freezers control the cooling in the cold food section. The freezer must work fine before the cold food section will work fine. Let us know more, Thanks JT

Fridge not cold enough

Check freezer... for Frost build up and if Fan is blowing, Check condenser... To make sure clean, and the fan is blowing by compressor, Check Recirclating Vents in refrigerator... to make sure theres no blockage, CONTROLS ...should be in the middle setting, YOU CAN TRY turning FREEZER CONTROL To A WARMER FREEZER SETTING Allowing.. MORE AIR.. to refrigertor side.
