Can you provide the actual model number of the motherboard? It should be posted labeled on your motherboard. You can open up the case and find it starting with "GA-.....".

The GA-8IE comes with the 845E chipset. The below link will provide a list of all the processors the board will support.

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/CPUSupport_Model.aspx?ProductID=1320

It appears that the fastest it will support is the P4 Prescott, Northwood, or Extreme @ 3.4GHz (800MHz FSB).

Hope this is the information you were looking for.

NO. you cannot install DUO to *********** board. the DUO is pinless and the P4 3.06 is pin type if you want to upgrade your PC you have to replace the mother board too.

New procesor not work

you might check the jumper for processor settings, maybe the jumper is not set to celeron? if it is working using the intel pentium check the specification of the mother board if you can use the celeron processor.

Titan p4 667 series gigabyte motherboard

According to this list on GigaBytes homepage
http://www.giga-byte.dk/Support/Motherboard/CPUSupport_Model.aspx?ProductID=1406
You'll be fine for quite a while, until the 478-socket processors are available in stores.
Your motherboard supports much faster CPU's than your current Celeron, so if money is short upgrade our processor.
But if you want to secure your motherboard for future upgrades, then I suggest you get one that support the newer dual-core processors, and PCI-Express instead of AGP.
Allthough you can still get pretty good GFX-Cards on the AGP-standard the PCI-E standard is the future.

I hope this answered your question :-)
