I have the same problem! Bushnell is not helpful with suggestions on how to fix it or provide support. This should be an easy camera and concept. I only suggest that you stay away from Bushnell.

Inside the SD card slot is a small, copper-colored wire. The problem is with that wire. If you can get it to come out more into the slot area, the camera should work okay. Make sure you're careful in moving the copper-colored wire. Alternatively, you can place tape around the SD card and insert it. The extra tape will push on the copper-colored wire. The tape is a temporary fix!

Make sure you have the day time set properly.  This means the time daylight begins.

1) maybe you are saving pictures to your camera internal memory,if so try to change it in settings for SD card,or it could be that your camera does not accept the type of SD Card Value you are using.Try a smaller value card

2) Check the Date and time factor so that it is using Daylight settings for your location.

Thanks for using FIXYA

How do I take time laps photos

This comes down to a couple basic things: careful planned and execution of your plan.

  1. Figure out what you what you photo and what the best way to capture the event will be. You're going to want to use a tripod to keep the camera in the same position for the duration of the event.
  2. Figure out how often you need the camera to take a photo. If the event is short like 1 minute, you're going to want to take more photos more frequently than if the event is one hour long.
  3. Position the camera and start taking photos. There is no magic "time lapse" setting on cameras so you're going to have to stick around and press the shutter based on the schedule you worked out.
  4. Grab your favorite movie editing program and edit them all together. Play around with how long you show each photo to control the speed of the time lapse effect.
  5. Export and enjoy!

My camera will not turn on even after charging it for a long time. The battery works in other cameras except mine so the battery is not the problem. Why will my camera not turn on?

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

Ixus 430 will take photos when flash is turned off, but will not take photos when flash or redeye is selected

Here are some simple things to try first for a camera that won't take a picture when the shutter button is pressed, or with an inoperative flash. They won't work for every case, but they're worth a try. (Hint, make sure that all the screws around the perimeter of the case are present and firmly seated.)

By mistake I took a photo with the "landscape"

Once the picture is recorded, it's recorded. You can edit it in the usual way.

Keep in mind that the scene modes merely give the camera a hint as to what you're taking a picture of so it can adjust the shutter speed and aperture appropriately. The camera doesn't know what you're taking a picture of. You can go ahead and shoot landscapes in the portrait mode or portraits in the landscape mode, and the camera won't care.

Err When Taking Photos.

Mine is doing the same. With all new batteries try squeezing the AA battery holder inwards to improve contact. This fixed mine temporarily. Long term you'll need to get the contact fixed by a camera tec.

Events taken

Events are not the same thing as pictures. I am not sure what makes the event counter move but I have 17 of these cameras and have used them for several years and most of my cameras have over 1500 events. I think an event is logged when it takes the first photo but an animal can remain in the area taking more photos which will show on the picture total. The evnt counter must have to be dormant for some period before it will register as a new event. Let the camera cycle through each counter and I believe the picture total is displayed after the events.

Don't worry about your event counter just the picture counter. I hope this helps.

Not taking pictures

The sensor sounds bad. The communication seems to have a too long of a delay. Meaning it is not snapping the shot as soon as the sensor goes off.
