I have a Craftsman Model # 139-53985DM Gargae Door Opener. It seems to be on the same frequency as someone else's in the area. When I arrive home each day. it is wide opened. How can I remedy this situation, as I have some valuable items stored in my garage?

This problem is generally caused by a bad wall control or the wiring going to it. You can easily eliminate both possibilities by removing the wire at terminal #1 on the rear of the motor unit. If the problem stops with the wire removed you can replace the wire at terminal #1 and remove it from the rear of the wall control. By a process of elimination you can find the culprit.

Lift master gargae door opener only will close when you hold the remote button till it closes

Check the door sensors. Make sure they are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not flickering. Tweak them a little. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have bad sensors.

Well, to make a short story long, a policeman knocked on my door and asked me if I knew both my garage doors were opened. The temperatures were subzero and single digits above 0. I alone and no one but...

Sounds like someone else in your neighborhood has the same garage door opener and it's on the same radio frequency as yours. And yours may be opening theirs. Your frequency can be changed, but you'll have consult your Owners Manual on how to do it or contact Sears.

If someone in your family carries the remote garage opener in the pocket or purse, it can be accidentally triggered. I say this, because my mother-in-law used to do it all the time.

Have a Craftsman 1/2 HP auto gargae doors. Lost power during a snow storm. Once power was reconnected only thing that did not work was garage doors. Is there a reset button somwhere....can't see one.

There isn't a reset button. Check the house circuit breaker. You may have had a power surge and that can damage the logic board printed circuit. Check the logic board for missing or burnt traces especially around the small transformer.

sounds like condensation in the receiver window of the garage unit rather than the remotes. Try running a hair dryer over the area where the signal is received to get rid of any moisture and try using the remote from across the road or at the drive entrance.to check your success

There have been a few complaints about this on some of the other forums and the seals arn;t all that good

I have a gargae door that goes down only not up. Plus when it goes down it stops at the bottom and retrives 6 inches back up.

Check to make sure that the garage door is balanced. Sounds like the springs need to be adjusted and the travel limits need to be reset.

My sears gargae door opener quit working with the remotes.

Took the side off and blue off the board, and re-connected all the wires and conections. It then started working again.
