It is not playing disc put into drives. went to playstation website already and tried auto diagnosis, but after xing on browser nothing comes up (system) Any thoughts?

-   mine will play every disk I have except it has stopped playing God of war 1 and 2 but it will play everything else no its not on its end and I bought an new God of War 2 disk so no scratches at all but it will play all of the rest of my 30 or so disks fine and cleaning dont help-   koiesbow

-   My problem is that it wont read certain games and I can't get it to read a dvd. I've tried the self diagnosis,cleaning, etc. that didn't seem to do anything. I just bought God of War II and it wont read the disk, also GTR4 same thing. The thing with GTR4 I was already 1/2 way when it quit working.

If you have your playstation 2 standing upright it may be this tht ios causing the problem as the disc will not be correctly line up with the laser that reads the disc this could also cause scratchs on the discs, its best to have the playstation 2 in the downright postition.
