Question about Eureka 2971AV EZ Kleen Bagless Upright Vacuum

Eureka upright Capture problem

I purchased this vacuum about 3 months ago and have used it a handful of times. The first time I used it, everything was fine. Vacumum worked perfect. Come the second time and thereafter, it is dropping dust everywhere! The vacuum cleaner does not even have to be on, if I go to move it there's a huge dust pile on the floor and if I do turn it on, my whole room fills with airborne dust. My husband has a number of times took the vacuum apart and cleaned it out and we are still having the same problems. Any suggestions? I really do not feel like spending another 100.00 on a vacuum.

Check the duster wand on this model and make sure that it is clean. Sometimes dust will fall off it if it hasnt been cleaned properly. Even if the hose has been checked there could be an inspection part of the cleaner (where the dirt enters the bagless bin) which hasn't been cleaned out. If this fails, then it could be somewhere else on the machine which is leaking dirt. Check the soleplate - I believe with this model it is front hood which pops off via 2 - 4 philips screw heads made viewable on the front and just below the wand/hose mount release on the left hand side if looking at the vacuum from the front. Check that the main dirt channel at the front isn't clogged. This is one way of dealing with escaping dirt.

We have a Eureka Capture. The power is on, but

It is possible that you need to clean the filters. I was shocked when I cleaned mine - did you know the foam one is yellow? :o) I just beat it against the outside wall and then patted it with my hand to get most of it out since I didn't have time to wash it and let it dry.

Manual says that if you use floor powders, these need to be maintained more often.

Hope this helps!

Eureka Boss - no suction in upright postion

when mine does that I find that the hose is not connected properly where it comes off to use the attachments.
If there is suction there, it is a straight shot to the floor unless it is loose where it fits together.
