Question about HP PSC 1410 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Please resolve on going problem

I am a customer. I bought a laptop with Black tie service pack. Sounds like all that. But I learned after my computer was not backed up, that is not included. Cost $99.00 extra. My computer stripped down to bare bones. And it still isn't right. I don't want to wait another week to get back less. I can't even spell check. Now Adobe reader won't work. And other problems. Out of buissness. Do I have best protection, Webroot spy sweeper, Trend micro antivirus ? What can I do to resolve on going problems?

Checked in Diagnostic cyan dispense motor and Cartridge motor working fine with cyan toner cartridge out, but when observed carefully by removing the cyan cartridge motor and coupling I could see that the D cut of cyan coupling was worn out as compared to other coupling of magenta , yellow, black. I put a packing of transparency in the D cut slot of the coupling so that the gear gives proper drive to the cyan toner cartridge and doesn't slip. The packing worked fine and the problem of customer was resolved.

How to resolve printer not printing black when printing from computer but prints when photocopying.

It sounds like an issue with your "printer settings" on your computer. Go to control panel, printers and faxes, right click, then printing preferences, this should take you where you want to go.

Won't shut down, won't finish boot - no functionability

I have had a similar problem since I bought this printer. When I make a copy or scan a document, the printer refuses to print anything else directly from the computer. If I turn offf the printer, I get the "printer is shuttting down" message in the display, however it never shuts down ( I've even left it overnight!) I have to pull the power plug out and wait ~30 seconds and then plug it back in to restore functionality in the print mode. I get some kind of nag screen at start up telling me that I didn't shut it down properly but I have just learned to ignore that. This problem is so consistant that I don't even try to print after making copies without unpluging the main power plug. Another issue you will probably run into is if you install Service Pack 3 on Win XP all your documents will print out in mirror image. HP's lame fix for this is to have you make custom settings in the print manager to remove the mirroring mode from the settings!! I am just about ready to change brands after being a faithful HP customer for over 25 years. They seem to have no interest in fixing known software issues anymore, as their push is to get new devices in the pipeline as soon as possible.
Good Luck

I have an HP computer with Windows XP. I bought a Lexmark printer X2600m and when I tried to print, it said USB port is not compatible.

Make sure you have the latest Service Pack installed on your PC. For XP, Microsoft released the Service Pack 3 (SP3) that corrects many bugs. You can download the SP3 and the install it, and see if it helps. Go on Microsoft website to find it.

HP 7310xi: "Remove and Check Printer Cartridge on the right"

Sounds like the carriage is broken on the black side. Pull the cartridge out and take a look at the silver metal piece. Is it loose from the side and if so did it punch a hole in the circuitry that cartridge comes in contact with. If I were a betting man this is probably your problem. You have to replace the whole carriage. This is a pretty common problem with the carriages that use the #96 and #97 cartridges.
