Does reformatting the micro sd flash drive removes all the pictres saved in it?

Yes. Formatting the card is the best way to clear the card for further use, AFTER you transfer all the pictures to your computer.

Please tell me how many pictres can 4 MB Sankar memory card can take ?

Wow, not many..... are you sure you dont mean 4GB.

Really depends on your camera resolution.

4MB card not recommended for any camera so if you are thinking about buying it DO NOT.
You will not be able to take any pictures with todays cameras. And maybe 1 picture
with legacy cameras.

Lines in every pictre ,

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free (for the S1 IS), including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

Applicable cameras include:
A40, A60, A70, A75, A80, A85, A95, A300, A310, S1 IS, S60, S200, S230, S330, S400, S410, S500, SD100, SD110, IXUS V2/300/400/430/500, IXY Digital 200a/300a/400/450/500

Lines in every pictre ,

Many compact digitals (of all brands) use a Sony sensor and Sony had a bad batch go through and the sensor's contacts are failing.  If you are getting images corrupted with lines, bad/weird colour or severe noisy hash, you may well have a dud sensor.  Check the canon web site for a list of effected cameras and/or contact Canon service.
Canon is replacing effected sensors free of charge regardless of warranty status.
