Question about Garmin StreetPilot c340 GPS Receiver
MyGarmin GPS c340 worked perfectly well until the following:
After using WebUpdater to download 5.9 update and attempting to download the City navigator NT 2009 (failed), I lost all of my map data.
There are no maps on the GPS although everything else functions.
My questions are as follows:
1) How can I recover both the memory and my map data.
2) If the above requires a repair, is it worth it or should I scrap the unit and get a newer one.
Any assistance you can offer, will be most appreciated.
I just spoke with Garmin and they walked me through correcting the problem - very helpful. It is a matter of resetting the unit. Turn unit off, then press a finger tightly against the bottom right hand corner of screen, holding it while turning unit on. When screen comes up, let go of power button but still pressing bottom right hand corner of screen, answer question regarding deleting defaults. It is tricky and may have to be done a couple times. Then you will answer questions regarding time zones, etc. When finished with this, turn unit off and go outside in order for the unit to re-aquire satellites. When all four bars on upper right hand corner turn green, you're back in business - or at least it worked for me. Hopefully this will help, but you may want to call Garmin as they are really helpful and can explain it better than I can. Good luck!
