Projector problem image is flickering constantly and the colour is turning pink

Had the same flickering with pink tint problem with a Toshiba TDP-T99 DLP projector.

The projector's startup screen and white areas (buttons, text, etc.) in the projector's onboard menu all looked normal.

When connecting the projector to a laptop, the projected image flickered slightly and any white areas (that looked normal on the laptop screen) were very pink (magenta) on the projected image.

Tried adjusting the projector's image colors with no joy.

Borrowed a VGA cable from a working Dell 17" LCD monitor, connected it to the laptop and projector and all whites looked normal again.

Reconnected the projector's original VGA cable to the laptop and projector (making sure cable was tightened down) and all works OK: there's no flickering and whites are normal.

Change your VGA cable, one of the wires inside the VGA cable is faulty

it may just need a service, as all DLP projectors need to be cleaned internally as well as LCD.
DLP projector images will flicker and lose colour also may shut down if it is very dusty inside.

Projector image has a pink tint to it

Usually colour problems like this are due to one of two things:
1. poor connection at either end of the cable, or
2. a damaged connecting cable between projector and computer.
Check these first before getting the projector to a technician.

Picture colour is wrong. Too much green and pink.

first reset the settings to factory default. then swap out the cable. if you still have trouble, replace the colorwheel.

Have you check your cable? Are you using the component(RGB) to vga cable? Your vga to vga cable may be defective.

Infocus x2

first try another computer cable. if same results, press the "auto image" button on the projector. if that doesn't work, press menu, select settings, then factory reset, and "yes". if you still have the same problem, the eca (main board) is bad.

When the image turns pink, we find that replacing the cable between the projector and the lap top fixes the problem.
