Why are my photos taken with my iPhone 5 suddenly coming out off color and very dark?

First, I suggest you look into the camera lens. Perhaps it is not clean? Next, how does the preview image look before snapping the picture? If the preview is good then the problem may be in automatic post-process settings.

My mobile camera is not not taking good pictures.

try to change the settings of your camera, set it to highest picture quality. Also light settings make abig difference to digital cameras. They can click excellent pics in daylight but suffer in the nighttime. You can use the night mode settings to take pics at night to solve this problem to sme extent.
I am one of the extremely satisfied users of the nokia 6233 phone and it's camera, I have clicked some awsome pics using it.

Iphone camera

Up until last night, I was dealing with this same problem. After a lot of searching I finally found a solution that actually works and it is by far the simplest fix.
Try pinching the iphone around the area of the camera, don't use too much force, you don't want to break anything. After doing this my camera immediately worked again. I believe its because something came loose. I hope this helps!

Keypad Problem

Have you tried it in the dark? There is a photo sensor that is located just above the right soft-key. It looks like a pin hole. Put your thumb over the hole and press a key on the keypad, you should see the keys light up. The purpose of this sensor is to prolong the battery life by not having to light up the keypad in the daylight.

There is a way to disable the photo sensor so that the keypad is on whether it is day or night. Look for a setting that allows you to turn the "battery saver" feature off.

Good luck!
