Question about Cuisinart Grind and Brew 10 Cup Coffee Maker

1 Answer

I own a cuisinart coffee maker and it leaks from the bottom. I've seen a number of posts on this subject, but no replies or any info on how to fix it. It seems to be a safety issue since it's leaking around the power cord. Any suggestions on fixing it?

We've had our Grind and Brew for about 3 years and it too has begun to leak from the bottom. We've cleaned it, replaced the filter and even decalcified it per the instructions in the manual all to no avail. We also called the customer service number to see if others had reported the same issue and they told us no. We're still looking for a solution.

My Grind and Brew is overflowing the coffee and grounds on the cabinet and under the pot. I have decalcified, changed filters, and I do not add "too many beans" ...any ideas??

I have had the maker less than three months and have had it leak all over the counter on several occasions. This with ground coffee and making less than 10 cups. I have also entered the kitchen to see that the door has sprung open leaving another mess. I am very disappointed with this coffee maker. I will not buy any Cuisinart products in the future.

Mine is leaking from the bottom and also doing absolutely nothing - no beep, no grind, no brew...Thoughts?

Only had ours a few months and it leaks aprox. every 10 pots. I clean every part very well. The only thing I might be doing wrong is adding too many beans. I will be trying this tomorrow (today it overflowed...that is why I am searching!) with less beans.

Hi,

I think it´s the tube from the water tank to the boiler that is leaking.

My coffee maker is leaking from the reserve. Is there a fix? I don't see a crack. It just started recently.

Reserves usually has a overflow hole on back . If not you might look for leaks around bottom were reserve meets up with coffee maker. Maybe leaking there.

You are not alone having the water leak in your SS-700. For better understanding what caused that leak please read the review on Cuisinart SS-700:

Water is leaking out the bottom

You MUST return this product or throw it away! This is a problem seen often and the biggest risk is electricution. The hold tank for the fresh water is leaking and it is leaking water into the area housing the heating element for the caraf as well as the pump and a few other nasties.

This is a very serious problem. Do not try to fix it. A new unit is much better than either getting shocked or burning your place down.

Bunn 10 cup maker

the exact same thing happened to ours. i went to the bunn website under support, and emailed them the exact same question you have here. i got a reply asking for our serial number from the bottom of the machine. as soon as i e-mailed that info to them, they told me that it was less than three years old (i guess they can tell from the serial number), still under warranty, gave me an RGA # and instructions to mail it back in for repairs. i'm getting ready to pack it up now.

Won't brew all the water comes out the bottom of the maker

Cuisinart – leaking from bottom
There is a tube inside that is melted, damaged - cannot get this part from manufacturer. I would call Cuisinart to see if you are still in warranty.
Here is the basic troubleshooting for the Cuisinart coffee makers:
Make sure all baskets are in proper place – especially if unit is beeping.
Do not use a paper and a gold-tone or other permanent filter at the same time.
Unplug for LONGER THAN 15 full minutes to reset.
Clean by brewing 2 oz of distilled white vinegar/2 oz water.
If these methods fail, the unit probably requires replacement – call Cuisinart as they have a longer-than-standard warranty.

Replacement time. a certain percentage of thse have this problem. There is a small, non-replaceable tube in the inside toward the bottom that has become melted/damaged.
