Laptop HP 4520s I5 - I pushed the button off laptop, and now it does not start, remain stuck in start

unplug ,remove battery, try a sewing needle or straight pin to work around the button to clear any obstruction. Use a LITTLE Silicon Spray to free the button, spray into a cap and maybe apply with a Qtip or toothpick.

The dvd drive on dell inspirion 1525 wont open...when I go to it under computer it says please insert dics and then say failed to eject...what do we do??????????

The loading tray has a pin hole on the front door, get a fine screwdriver or needle and push it in until you hear a click the tray should pop open, pull it all the way out, look under the tray for a small black loading belt make sure it is snug tight. If the DVD driver fails to work at this point, replace the entire assembly.

How to connect tv cable on my laptop

So here's a quick walk-through of all the methods that I know (if you know any more, please comment) to connect a laptop or PC to your TV:
1. S-Video - This is probably the most common method out there currently because an S-Video cable is cheap as heck and just about every TV under the sun has a S-Video port. You'll have to make sure you laptop is equipped with this port. Remember, there are two types of S-Video cables: 4-pin and 7-pin. Most laptops and PC's are equipped with a 7-pin port, so if your TV only has a 4-pin S-Video port, then this method will not work.
2. VGA - If you have a HDTV, then you will be better off connecting using a VGA cable . It gives much better quality than S-Video and as with S-Video, the cable is very cheap. You usually won't find a VGA port on regular TV's though, so this option is if you have an HDTV.
3. DVI - DVI stands for Digital Visual Interface with "digital" being the key word there. The digital signal will give a higher quality picture than either S-Video or VGA. Of course, your computer will need to have a DVI connection and your TV will need to be an HDTV. This cord is definitely not cheap, it ranges anywhere from $40 to $80.
4. HDMI - Using HDMI will give you the best quality by far. No computers that I know of yet have HDMI ports, but you can get a DVI to HDMI cable to connect it to your HDTV. HDMI is compatible with DVI.
5. Scan Converter Box - This is the last method that I could think of and it involves using a scan converter box, which takes a VGA signal and converts it into S-Video or component video.
Here's a graphic I created with some pictures of the various cables:

Hope this helps someone! If you have any other ideas or suggestions, please feel free to comment!!! Thanks!

It is almost impossible to charge my battery. I have to struggle with the connector and push it in as hard as I can for almost ten minutes to get the power to connect in order to charge my battery. ...

First try with another power adapter. may be adapter pin is damaged. Still not charging then need to change the power input pin of the laptop. Contact nearest service center for replacement.

The pin broke off in my AC Adapter. Is there

Unforturnatly you cannot just glue back on the pin from your ac adapter.

but you can buy just the "brick" part of the ac adapter and should be less than $80.00 for the complete set.

Hope this helps.

I have a problem with the keyboard on Dell C600 laptop. It seems like the left part of the keyboard is disabled. No respons on 1,2,q,w,a,s,z,x,Esc. I purchased a new keyboard on eBay, but it didn't fix the...

The C600 keyboard connector is a ribbon cable with a push down to connect block. When one side of the keyboard keys do not work it is usually because the pins in the keyboard socket do not make a good contact with the ribbon cable.

Remove the keyboard and visually inspect the pins in the connector.
If necessary you can prise them back into the correct position using a sewing needle or something similar to get behind the pins.

Make sure you discconect the power supply and battery before you attempt.

Broken touchpad connector

I suggest you replace the motherboard. A recent search on ebay turned up three ranging in price from $18 to $85. Soldering a motherboard by hand has a very high failure rate. It's easy to bridge or scratch something and fry the board. You could of course try to do it and if it fails get a replacement board.

That red line

give more details please.
- case 1 : does it not turn on at all ?
- case 2: or does the screen stay blank with that red line, but laptop still makes noises (a sign for hardware activity and a proper boot up..!, but the lcd monitor is broke then)
- case 3: or do have a steady red line on the display all the time whatever you do in windows?
(your lcd monitor maybe damaged in that area,) you will have to use it that way..then.

you may try to connect any other vga monitor to the laptop's graphic card (the 3 -row pin input in the back of the laptop) to double-check.
In both last error cases, just to see if error is still there (if not, you're lucky, work with the external monitor then.., if yes, it's the laptops' graphics card then, bad luck as in case 1).

check this out, if still problems, please give more prob details - you know where to find us, don't you? :-)

Battery is not charging

The Ac connector on the system board is loose from it's connection. It needs to be resoldered. That entails opening up the laptop down to the System board.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
