The disposer when on gives a stuck sound and the blades are not turning. I cleaned the blade area and also pressed the red button. Couple of times it strated briefly and then it went back to the stuck sound with the blades not turning.

If you can turn the disposal by hand with the allen wrench and you press the button and it still won't work try checking the house fuse or circuit breaker. If you have power at the disposal and all of these things fail just buy another disposal. (usually under $100) Buy the same brand and you won't even have to replace the fitting in the sink If you buy the same HP the plumbing won't even have to be changed. In sink erator makes Emerson, some Kitchen aid, some Whirlpools and most Sears Kenmore disposals. You should be able to look and tell if it is the same size. It is cheaper to replace than call for service. With the same brand it won't take more than 20 min to install. Read the instructions you'll see how easy it is. (if your dishwasher drains through the disposal make sure you remove the knockout plug before installing the disposal.)

Mine has a different problem. The erator works. But there is a hole outside the erator, as if it is eroded. When I touch it, crumbs fall.

What is this problem? Shall I use something to seal it?

Thanks.
