Take off the front kick plate (bottom panel) then remove the front panel. The top panel will be attached to the front panel by some plastic push in retainers you can loosen with a screwdriver. The belt will go around the drum on top to a drive wheel at the bottom of the machine. you will have to slip the belt around the drum in the front or back of the drum to get it around it.

You did ot give a make or I could direct you right to the tip I have for that.... but go to my profile and look under my "tips" I have the diagrams for most every dryer there...

Dryer belt replacement

put belt around drum then around motor pulley, then pull or push idler pulley so as to put belt over this pulley and release,this will tighten the belt,then manually hand rotate drum to self-align belt on pulleys and drum and put covers back on

Dryer drum causing squeak

Most likely the front support bearing. If this is the problem you will likely have to replace the slides too. The wizards have a ten year warranty. The bearing is part number WE3M26 and the slides probably need 3 or 4 of them are we1m333. Hope this helps.

GE Profile Dryer (Not a Harmony)

Procedure is much the same, just easier. Don't take belt off. Pull drum straight forward six inches or so and replace the hat shaped teflon drum bearing.
