Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then…

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Why did my refrigerator quit working but the freezer side still works?

Your freezer is probably froze up with ice. Pull all your food out of it and shut off the refrigerator. this will let the coils warm up and melt the ice.on the freezer coils. There are coils behind the freezer that freeze up up. I ran a hair dryer in there freezer on low for a few hours to speed up the process.

Top freezer is getting cooled but bottom freezer is not getting chilled

Check freezer fan behind freezer is working. Check ice formation not abstracting the fan by working. This is the common problem- defrost failure. Check thermostat, timer and freezer heater are working.
Simple way of solution. Unplug fridge for some times and after defrost completely, restart the unit.Keep freezer temp @5 degree.

Top Freezer works fine but there is no ice building up in freezer the bottom fridge not cooling properlyThings are not as cold as they should be

Remove the back panel from the freezer to verify no ice behind the freezer panel. Look inside the air vent on the freezer panel for ice buildup. Make sure the freezer control is set to minimum not coldest freezer.. Make sure the freezer fan motor is working.

Freezer not working in garage top mount freezer on refrigerator

Sears is technically correct. It wouldn't work with the old coolant either. The principle is simple. The refrigerator is the same temp as your garage - it is not running. It must be in a 60 degree room to work properly. The sensor to turn it on is in the fresh food compartment, and it never calls for cooling; therefore it appears you freezer only is out - but they both work together. Hope this helps!

Fridge part not working on Whirlpool Arc 7050 Fridge Freezer

If this is correct:

1. No ice build up on back of freezer wall.
2. Fan in freezer is working.
3. Items in freezer are frozen, ice cream is a good test.

Then:
Why is the cold air in the freezer not getting over to the Ref. side?

1. There is a channel (tunnel) from the freezer to the Ref, side and there is a door which regulates how much cold air from the freezer goes through to the Ref. side.

2. The control panel may have it labeled as "Freezer" setting, from cold to coldest. The coldest setting means the door is almost closed and will keep most of the cold air in the freezer.

3. Since your control panel is not working then this door must be almost closed keeping all or most of the cold air in the freezer.

Any service tech should be able to check the control panel and find the problem.
