FLSE72GCSA top drum glide

How do I remove the front of the dryer to exchange the drum glide? I removed the top screws and the panel between the washer and the dryer but don't know how to continue, can't see any more screws that are accessible.
Thanks a lot,
Gaby

How to Replace a Dryer Door Switch on a whirlpool

First, make sure the peg on the door that pushes the switch is in place and the two snap pegs that hold the door shut are not broken. If any of these are broken, replace them first and see if that solves your problem. If not, here's how to replace the door switch: Unplug the dryer. Pull out lint screen. Remove two screws revealed underneath. Slide a 1" putty knife between the top and cabinet at the top front corners on each side, jamb it in while tugging the top forward to release the clips, one at a time. Lift top and lean against wall. If it's a gas dryer, remove lower front panel and loosen two 5/16" hex head screws for top front panel. If electric, loosen same screws at bottom of front panel. Remove two 5/16" hex head screws holding front panel from inside near top. Carefully tilt front toward you, holding drum in place. Lift front panel slightly to disengage bottom screws and remove. Gently lower drum until it stops. Unplug two (sometimes three) wires to door switch on right side. Now the front panel is completely free. Remove two Phillips head screws holding door switch onto front panel. Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly. Make sure wiring to door switch is secured to cabinet so they don't drag on the drum, and are not pinched. Be careful realigning the drum into the door opening so felt seal is inside the front glide ring on the drum. After the front panel is in place, gently hand turn the drum to make sure it is turning properly and the belt in still hooked to the idler and motor pulleys. If the drum falls off the rear rollers, or the belt comes loose, you will have to correct it before putting the front panel back on, as you cannot reach them otherwise. Taking pictures during disassembly will help get it back together properly. It really is not as hard as it seems, you may even be able to replace the switch without removing the front panel. Also, if you have a three wire switch, write down where they go or snap a picture. If it's a two wire switch, it doesn't matter, it will work the same either way. Good luck.

417.91702000 Broken dryer belt and felt replacement

To get inside the dryer portion you start by removong the top making a note of where the screws mount makes it easier to put back right later but is no big deal. After removing the top you remove the splashplate and then the controlpanel. The panel has quick connects so the wiring will be no problem. Once the control panel has been removed get the front panel off ad remove the drum.
IThese dryers comewith 2 different styles of glides. The drum mounted version and the front panel mounted versions. The glide kit comes with glue also. I have a page which features videos and more on frigidaire dryers. HERE

Hi, in my dryer clothes are get stuck between the drum and front of dryer and ending up with holes in the clothes. How do I fix this?

This is a common problem with this unit, (I had 50 of these to service at a complex).
The most simple solution is to use a mesh garment bag for delicates. The unit
has "felts" and "glides" around the top of the front panel. It requires a kit (felt/glide kit)
that has to be glued into position and allowed to dry overnight.
spring clamps work well to hold it in place as the glue dries. The kit is easy to
install but reinstalling the front panel is patience consuming trying to align the drum over the new felts and glides. It is easier done with the
door removed. The kit costs around 27 dollars from the appliance parts store and
usually comes with the high temp glue (or Seals All) and instructions. It does not require
moving the unit out as the screws are on the top panel and hidden behind the
control panel (the two screws on the underside of the control panel allow it to hinge forward)
They are 1/4 inch. They should screw clockwise to loosen the spring latches. Remember to disconnect power to unit and unplug door switch as you disassemble. .

Dryer is starting to squeak, does the dryer have a belt

yes they do...
Remove the panel below the dryer door to access the screws to remove the front of the dryer. Here is a breakdown of what you are looking for. The noise is probably from the rear bearing -http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=154&N=1851

and front drum glide - http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=154&N=343

I have a Kenmore Stacked washer/dryer that was given to me. The dryer has a pretty loud sqweek. Is this normal?

A loud squeek is normally caused by the tension pully or the rear drum rollers seizing. Remove the two screws holding the inspection panel between the washer and the dryer. Remove the panel. Slide a 1/2 inch paint scraper between the top and the cabnet front and releave the spring loaded clips that hold the top on and remove the top. Loosen the two screws at the bottom of the dryer front panel. Looking down inside the front panel remove the two screws holding the front panel to the cabnet. Mark and remove the wires going to the door switch and remove the front panel. At the rear of the dryer remove the inspection plate at the bottom of the dryer and remove the belt from the spring loaded tension pulley. Go the the front of the dryer and remove the dryer drum and belt. Now you can check to see if the rollers are worn or seized and check to see if the tension pulley is seized.
Purches a kit that includes a new belt, drum rollers and tension pulley and replace all. Reassemble the dryer in the reverse as to how you took it apart.

How do i remove the drum on a maytag top-loading washer.MAV 7000aww

If you want to remove the drum of your maytag wahser follow this procedure:
  1. Disconnect the power supply to the Maytag dryer by unplugging it from the wall outlet.
  2. Use a screwdriver to remove the three screws located at the top of the control console.
  3. Pull the control console forward to release the tabs that hold it to the Maytag dryer top. Maneuver the control panel out of your way without disconnecting any wires.
  4. Use a putty knife inserted between the top and front panel to disengage the retaining clips that secure the top panel of the Maytag dryer. Lift the top panel up, and remove it from the dryer.
  5. Use needle nose pliers to remove the wires from the door switch terminals. The door switch is located just inside the front right corner. Grasp the wire leads with the pliers and pull them off the terminals.
  6. Use a screwdriver to remove the retaining screws that hold the front and side panels together on the Maytag dryer. Lift the front panel up and out of the work area.
  7. Use a screwdriver to remove the Maytag dryer drum light lens screw. Press the locking tabs on the light socket, and remove it from the cavity of the drum.
  8. Use a socket wrench to remove the four retaining bolts that secure the drum bulkhead to the sides of the Maytag dryer.
  9. Reach your hand beside the drum and the motor, and push the idler pulley forward to release tension on the belt. Make notes of how the belt is routed on the pulleys, and then remove the belt from the motor pulley and idler pulley.
  10. Grab the belt with one hand, and the Maytag dryer drum with the other. Pull the drum out of the front of the dryer.

I need to replace the drum seal due to brown stains on clothes.

When the front door glide system on the fex series dryers wears out the drum isn't held in place properly, there is enough of a gap between the bottom of the drum and the front panel for clothing to get in. As the drum rolls and the item moves to the top it becomes pinched as the gap closes leaving stains and sometimes damaged clothing.
If this is what you are talking about, Make sure it is unplugged then remove the slanted panel above the washer lid. remove the control panel (4 screws) it can be unplugged (2 plugs on left side) and laid aside (rubber line can be removed and slid out of plastic clamp.
when the control panel is removed you will find two screws holding the bottom of the front panel, these have to be removed.
there are 4 screws along the upper edge of the front panel that have to come out and then the front will come off.
Reassembly is difficult with this machine (I remove the dryer door if I'm working alone) so try to do the job when you have help.
Good Luck
Quentin

Need to replace roller's on LG Tromm Gas front load dryer. The back seems to be stamped to the side panels. How do you take apart the dryer to get at the inner workings?

Unplug power cord. Remove phillips head screws on the bottom side of the "L" bracket on the back side of the dryer's top. Use the flat sides of your hands to sharply push back on the dryer's top, sliding it back about 2 inches and then lifting it off. Remove screw from top corner front corners and pry control locking tabs off from along top edge. (watch for sharp edges) Swing control panel up onto top of dryer. Remove the two screws at the bottom side of the door opening and the four screws along the top of the front panel. Unplug the light, door switch, and also the moisture sensor (by the bottom of the drum) then remove front panel. Remove four screws holding front drum support and lift up on it a bit to remove. Look at how the belt goes around the motor and pulley before removing, then take out drum. You will need to remove the phillips screws from behind dryer to remove the rear drum support assembly, allowing you to get to the nuts on the back rollers. First time job: maybe 2 hours. Second time: maybe a half hour, tops.
