Red Screen and then turns off

Television plays then all of a sudden the entire screen goes red and then it truns tiself off. You can can then turn it back on and it shows a picture, then truns red and shuts off.

Your red CRT is most likely shorted and will need to be replaced. If you need more assistance please let me know.

the problem is vertical collapse,i am not so sure you can trouble shoot this on your own but you can send the board to eithor pts electronics or tristate module for repair

Red screen and lines, then TV shuts off automatically


Adjust RED screen drive down, or disconnect,unplug CRT board from red tube turn set back on if it plays without shuting off RED tube is shorted or video IC on CRT board is bad.

Sony 65 inch screen tv


Yes the red tube is shorted. I will post a link to the site where I work as they have an entire AV48WP30 with a bad tuner they are selling parts off of including the Tubes. they also provide free info on how to switch out the tubes as a unit which is a fairly easy job. Heres the link.

Turn red screen control down a little...

Red lines across screen


it sounds like a b+ cap going bad and is intermittant that feeds the the video drivers on the crt pcb or the crt is shorting. I have seen intermittant shorts in crt before.
