Hello. I have a Mimaki JV33BS Plotter (1.6m print width). Suddenly as from couple of weeks ago the plotter started printing some black dots everytime there is an image or color to print. This dots are printed in a steady or repetitive and consistent pattern independently of the file or art being printed. When there is a blanck area a the beginning of the art or image there are no undesired dots printed. This dots are (when printing at 4 or 6 pass) a line around 1 inch lenght and paralled to the head printing direction. 1 line like the above described is printed always at 60cm of the width of the printing area and reapears approx. every 10cm in the direction of advance of the material. When printing at 8 pass, the line is reduced in length and reapprears every some 4cm of adavance of the material. Hopefully anyone have an idea of the problem cause and how to solve it. I appreciate any assitance. Merry Christmas! My name Roberto Bastida and live near Mexico City,

Sounds like a cleaning issue.

Processes but won't print

Sometimes a plotter will show that is receiving data from the computer but will not print. I assume this is what you are describing. This can be caused by a couple of things. The first suspect is a corrupt file. Try a smaller file to see if it will print. If it does, the problematic files are probably from Photoshop or a CAD program. If a file has more than one level when it is sent to the plotter, the plotter has a hard time digesting it. Try "flattening" the file (makes a single level) and then send it to the plotter.

Another possibility is that the printer driver is no longer matched to the computer operating system or is simply corrupt. Go to HP.com and get the latest driver for the plotter. Windows XP Pro 64 drivers work well with W7 and 8.

Lastly, the Jetdirect card could be faulty. Reseat or replace the card.

I have the Epson Stylus Pro 3880. Up till a few weeks ago all was well, the today, it decided not to print out the black areas of my shots. I've check the inks, the heads all is well. HELP

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

HP 750C Moved across country, bought a new iMac. Forgot how to set up plotter settings so the mac can find it. on the network. I remember having to make changes on the plotter, but can't remember what...

Hello, the plotter should be seen in your print and fax preferences (apple menu, system preferences, print and fax): In the print and fax preferences panel, you can click on "+" at the bottom left of the window, you should see your plotter appear in the window, and click on the "add" button Best regards

Plotter only printing in Cyan

Check your black cartridge. Do the pump the cartridge thing with the plunger on the left of the plotter. Check all the electrical connectors on the cariage and the cartridge - clean with water -or wd40 if you are very careful and check that all the contacts, about 40 of them are clean and undamaged on each cartridge. Replace with known working cartridges. run a color test as specified in the manual -- hp has relased the manual for this printer as they no longer service this unit.
