SOURCE: lens only comes half way out

I had a problem that may be related to yours. From time to time, whenever I opened the cover, the lens wouldn't work properly. It would make a grinding noise and then when I took pictures they would all come out out of focus. After much fiddling about, I eventually discovered that if I set ALL RESET to FALSE on the SETUP menu, it returned to normal. Possibly this could fix your problem. Otherwise maybe its a battery problem. My camera sometimes refuses to take pictures when the battery is low.

Noise + lens problem

Not necesarely a lens problem. It could be, but also it could be a software or mecanical problem. You have to take the camera to a local Olympus dealer for repair. You cannot repair this on your own.

Lens is stuck out, camera makes a three beep noise

I'd say the lens gears are stripped or at least out of alignment. Probably due to dropping it on the lens while extended. The camera will have to be sent to the factory or a factory authorized service center. You can also call the customer service folks for help but that will most likely be in vain.

Sumsung digimax

get a butter knife or any thin object like that and use it to push out the lens and turning it on at the same time you will hear a clicking noise which is normal once completely out, use your hand with a gentle but firm presure move it form left to right
and then hopefully it should work after that

Beeps 3 times

Is it an actual beep, or is it a beeping noise coming from the lens? Does the lens extend? I ask this because this is the noise the lens focus gears make when they are knocked out of alignment, or debris gets in them and jams them.

E18 Message - Beeping.

The E18 error message relates to a problem with the zooming mechanism (lens would not retract or extended) Press the power button on and hold it down while extending and twisting the telescopic zoom lens. It might fix your problem. In any case it could not make it worse Good luck!
