Re: 2 left side red 1/2 ring ligts
These two lights are actually an indication of overheating. Typically this happens if the heat synch is not making good contact with the cpu or gpu, or the cooling fan is not working properly.
If the fan gets really loud just before it overheats and turns off then it is likely a heat synch issue
You can try searching for the xclamp replacement fix (I won't leave my own tutorial here as there are a plethera of them out there, just use a search engine to find them)
If the fans do not make noise - it may be that they are not working properly, you may want to replace it with another cooling fan. Talismoon fans are widely available and very quiet.
Try cleaning the console - dust and debris trapped inside the console traps heat as well.
Other than that if the console is usuable for more than a few minutes and it overheats after an hour or more, then you can try removing the heatshield (metal piece located under the top plastic cover) and or replacing the cooling fan with a more effecient fan. Please note that removing the heatshield is not recommended as it protects the top of the console from the extreme heat built up by the console, but removing it does allow for a much more significant amount of air flow.
Try and keep the console off the ground - along with the power supply
Play it horizontally instead of vertically and keep it away from carpets which trap heat and other sources of heat.
As always contact microsoft for warranty info prior to opening the console or letting someone else fix it for you.
Hope that helps.

(a/c, fridge ) not for too long.
simple fix my friend mine broke today was going to play a game and message came up. simply take about 2 towels wrap your xbox up with no games or hard drive in but keep the power supply and av cable in. let it sit for about 20 mins until the bottom red light goes away and 2 red lights appear on the left side. then unwrap it and wait 10 mins turn on it should work hope this helps!
Cracked solder points try turning it on with the fan unpluged and wait untill you get the 2 red rings lights 1 and 3 then wait until the xbox shuts off then wait a couple of min. then reconnect the fan and turn it on to see what happends.
Red ring is not the only problem with Microsoft Xbox 360. This amazing
device also has some more common problems like Audio , video
problem, disc read error etc. Microsoft is providing extended warranty
only for red ring problem. Means you will have to spend some money to
get this problem repaired also if you plan to send your xbox to
Microsoft, you will have to wait for 3-4 weeks to get back your
favourite Xbox. There is one more option in the form of DIY guide, this guide explains solving No Video problem with step by step instruction, so any novice can fix this problem
Sometimes the easiest way is the fastest way.The signal reset button (the little one to the left of the power button) is also the unofficial reset button for the Xbox 360. With the Xbox turn off, press this button and keep pressing it while you press the power button. Do not release the reset button until you see the system booting up normally. Of course, if there is a permanent or a more serious damage to the system, it won’t work or the error will be recurrent until it is solved. Resetting just clears the error from memory.
