THREE TON CAN GET BY ON A 12 RETURN AND A 12 SUPPLY SPLIT INTO TWO 10S ONE FOR EACH SIDE OF A DOUBLE WIDE. EVEN BETTER IS A 14 RETURN AND A 14 SUPPY SPLIT TO TWO 12S . IF ITS A SINGLE WIDE I THINK I'D TRY TO PULL TWO 14S ONE TO SUPPLY ONE TO RETURN.BIGGER THE RETURN THE BETTER. LIKE SUCKING A MILKSHAKE THROUGH A LITTTLE STRAW. BIGGER IS BETTER.BE SURE TO ELEVATE OR BLOCK UP THE DUCT OFF THE GROUND WITH STYROFOAM BLOCKING 6 IN THICK IN 2 FT LENGHTS , WORKS WELL GETS DUCT UP OUT OF DIRT AND WATER AND RODENTS CAN CRAWL UNDER.

No it cant really be fitted as the evap system uses much larger duct and also in some cases people use a different type of duct that when running a gas heater threw it it tends to melt with the heat. Your best option would be to get new ducting that way you can size it correctly so you dont have air alance issues down the track.

If I change my unit size from a 2 ton to a 3 ton do I need to change the size of the ducting

You will perhaps need a bit of a change as the new unit will most likley deliver more cfm. But the contraqctor should be able to guid you on this.. get any changes in writing But it could be as simple as a transition duct change..

Dimension size for the ducting.

If you want the drain to be ducted the measurement is about the size needed for the drain pipe. Normally a duct with an OD- outer diameter -of about 3 inches should be sufficient to plug in the drain hose .
Make sure your drain hose fits into the duct as you can buy one with the drain hose taken out to sample.

I have a 4-ton Frigidfaire air conditioning unit on my 2400 square foot home, but I am not receiving the cooling I should receive. My split system model is #: FT4BF-048K. My air handlers Model is...

Hi, the ducts are 18" round at the beginning and branch out to smaller sizes for other rooms. 10" for living areas, 8" for bedroom, down to 6" for bathrooms if they have them.If this unit was just installed, I would recommend getting the contractor out and do a balance of the duct work as they should have installed hand dampers to balance out the system, so you will have equal air distribution throughout. I would have went with a 5 ton unit for 2400 SQ.' home, but that's what the contractor recommended. If its only been there a short time, get them back out there as you may have other problems. If its not a new system, it may need to be serviced, outdoor coil washed, you may have a small freon leak, anything could be wrong. This is what I recommend, call out the contractor.

What is the difference between ducted roof air and non ducted.

Non-ducted units blow the cooled air out louvers on the unit. Ducted units discharge into a duct system like your home furnace. (Or RV Furnace (heater)).

Calculation of CFM discharge from an opening of a duct collar

There's a thumb rule in A/C air distribution. At 1 TR load, the air supply is about 400 CFM and the ideal diffuser size is 16" x 16" with an effective flow area of about 70%. Branch duct size for this outlet should be around 12" x 12".

Goodman PCK-060-1C. suction 52, coil/filter/blower/restrictor/drier okay. Recovered the charge and recharged with factory specified amount. The return air 1800 cfm. Motor 3/4 hp. It seems to me the motor...

It seems to me that your suction should be @ 76 or so. 52 is low. the coil will ice up with any suction PSI below 58. Disconnect the unit from the duct work and make sure there is no restriction in the duct size. In other words. Does the unit work properly with out the duct? I find most mobil homes have a restriction in the amount of return. A 5 ton split needs a 20 inch round return. You never see this size return on a package unit. Does the return **** the filter in? I have had to add returns to large mobil homes because there just not designed right.
this is only a possibility. Is the temperature split on the equipment between 18 and 20 If it is then I don't thing you have an equipment problem. Also make sure there are no holes in the duct work.Last one I had unit was working fine but the duct work had a big hole in it from some animal under the trailer.
