KENWOOD SECURITY CODE CLEAR procedure

These codes are applicable for all Kenwood radios that do not have DVD or DVD screens located on unit.

Your radio will require one of the following procedures.

During the code request mode, while holding the DISP key depressed, press and hold the Volume UP or DOWN key for 3 seconds

(so that “…” disappears).
Then using your remote enter your code.

Type 2
Press the "Auto" button and "Track up" on face of radio at the same time. The four dash lines ( . . . . ) should "disappear".

Then using your remote enter your code.

Type 3

Press and hold the 1 then the 6 preset key (preset keys are the buttons on face of radio for storing you "favorite" radio

stations). "C" should display.
Then using your remote, enter your code.

Enter your number from the remote control unit. Your code number is 5227 (KCAR)

* Press numeric key “5” ( 2 times ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key on the remote

Had an electrical issue with the used ford that I purchased recently from a used car lot, and it locked up the stereo/radio. It is a Kenwood 5QWx4 MP3 WMA, also has KDC-MP235. I can get it to ask me for...

I would suggest looking in the phone book under car audio. Look for a Kenwood dealer. This is the only place that you can get the codes from. These codes are an anti-theft device put in the stereos. They will have to have the Serial number on the stereo. But I have searched all over the internet and paid hundreds of dollars on sites that promise the codes. And I have had no luck finding one that is legitimate.

I have a Kenwood KDC-322 car radio. It says enter code. Does anyone know where i can go to get this code?

The only way that i know how to get the stereo to unlock is to remove the power from the stereo for about 10-15 seconds then reconnect power back to stereo this should reset the unit.

Installing self amplified sub to factory stereo

Hello Jax GS300,

Yes, you can use RCA cables. Just wire in a "low-level" converter.

Using RCA's is really the best way, allowing you to run shielded wiring to the sub, making it less likely that the wiring will pick up electrical interference. I'd install the converter on the rear speaker wires behind the dash.

If you do not want to convert the speaker output, you can drive the Kenwood directly from the speaker wires. The diagram in the install manual shows the connections coming off the rear speakers.

Here's a link to one output converter. This one will convert all 4 speakers.

Hope this helps.

I need to install a kenwood cd player into my 2001 ford explorer step by step

goto the auto parts store and purchase a pair of stereo keys, fascia adaptor and wiring harness (you may need to get fascia and harness from a car audio store or circuit city.)
Then use the stereo keys to remove the factory stereo. Push them into the small holes on the front of the stereo push them slightly outwards and pull to release the stereo. Unplug all the connectors from back keeping track of where they fall.
Insert wiring harness into the stock wiring
attach fascia in regards to its packaged instructions.
Place cage from new stereo into the hole in the dash using the tabs on cage to secure it,
Attach stereo to other end of new harness along with aerial (may need adaptor for this also depending on the new head unit.)
Insert stereo into new cage and voila nice new stereo.

My audio player is asking for a code

Hi. If the Stereo system is a factory fitted one, then you need to ring a dealer who sells that brand of car in your area and they can help with the code. Have your vehicle registration/ ownership details ready.

I have a Kenwood kdc mp828. I disconnected my battery cable and now can not remember my security code. I need to reset the unit so I can again listen to my stereo.

I read a blog on your site about Kenwood stereo's. I used that information to unlock my stereo security code. Albiet, I did have to figure out a bit of the code needed myself. I am again able to listen to music on my stereo.
