In this case you need to follow 2 steps: 1: In this case what i would request u to do is: 1. Let the Printer be Connected to the Computer...... 2. Click on start then Click on Run or If Windows Vista Type Services.msc Under the Run Window if XP,Under Start Search if Vista....... 3. On that Services Local Window u need to find Print Spooler just Double Click on that and Click on Stop.......... 4. Now let that Window still be Open now click on that start Menu Click on Run If XP........ Type in "Spool" and Click Ok........... 5. Double Click on Printers and Delete Each and Every File Inside the Printers Folder........... 6. Now Close this Window and now u will be back to the Print Spooler Window now u can click on Start under the Print Spooler.... Once this is done if you refresh the Devices and Printers Page you would find the exclamation mark gone from the Printer icon now follow the below steps to install the Printer again: Now go ahead and download the software from the following Link:
There could be some print jobs stuck in the print queue. Try to clear the print queue first before sending a new print job. Follow these steps:
- Browse to Start -> Run... and type in
"NET STOP SPOOLER" (this will stop the print spooler service)
- Browse to your
windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder- You should see files there ending in .SPL and
.SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.- Browse to Start ->
Run... and type in "NET START SPOOLER" (this will restart the print
spooler service)- Double click the printer icon in the
lower-right corner of your taskbar to examine your print job queue and browse
to View -> Refresh. Try to print again.
To start print spooler service, go to start > run > services.msc then press enter. scroll down the list to find print spooler, then right-click then click on start. You need to have it automatically start in the future, so you have to right-click > properties > startup type > change to automatic. Then try reinstalling your printer if necessary.
From what you're saying the windows print spooler service is not starting following the installation of your printer (and thereby you cannot print i'm assuming)
try the following to start the print spooler service if it is not already running.
Right Click My Computer
Click "Services and Applications"
Scroll down to "Print Spooler" and double click on it to open up the properties page
where it says "startup type" select automatic from the combo box list
If the service is NOT running, start it by clicking "start"
The print spooler service is started now, and **should** work properly. If the spooler is still not starting properly, then you may have a driver issue and i reccommend uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for your printer.
hi! Print Spooler is actually a service for your Operating system- Try this
Click on start and click on run in the open box type in services.msc and your services local window should open, scroll down and look for print spooler, highlight it and do a right click and on the dropdown menu left click on stop and it will go to a process of stopping the service and then right click back and click on start. if you get an error message about print spooling or spooler, then that means you have a problem with the operating system. call or go to microsoft help and support online in that case. and RPC server unavailable error has something to do with a network printer. but i believe you setup the printer locally.
since you removed everything, take it one step farther. Try using SYSTEM RESTORE (assuming you have WIN ME or later). This will restore the register for Windows OS. Select a restore date from the list to when you thought the system worked fine-go back to the earliest date if necessary.
