> HDD does not occur in the BIOS ... says it NONE

This is the first problem that you need to fix, before doing anything else.

Check that the disk-drive is properly "connected" (both "data" and "power" connections).

Enter "BIOS SETUP", and see if the disk-drive is correctly "detected".

Probably, you need to replace the disk-drive, and then reinstall Windows.

Is the current disk-drive still under the manufacturer's warranty?

Formatted HDD wont install windows 7 ULT disc

It may be that your BIOS is not setup to boot from CD before HDD. To get to the BIOS, look for the message for getting into the BIOS on the first screen after rebooting. There are many versions of the BIOS depending on the computer, but usually its F1, esc, del, F2, F3. It should say which to push on the first screen after rebooting. Look in the BIOS fot boot order, then put CD drive as the first boot order. Then save by either hitting F10, or pressing esc. This will make it so it looks for a boot.ini on the CD before firing up the HDD. Some CDs/DVD's will boot on their own, but usually it will say 'Press any key to boot from CD'. Press that and go from there. I would choose the option to format the drive before it installs, since the way you did it might not of erased it all the way. (Usually a clean formatted HDD will say 'Missing Operating System', not boomgr missing). Try that first then let me know if this worked for you. Also, if you are using an windows 7 upgrade disk, it will not work. Has to be the complete operating system disk for a clean install.

Hello. Completely out of the blue, when I turned my laptop on it immediately went to a black screen that said "A disk read error occurred press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart." But when I do it takes me...

When your system boots it looks for a startup file which is located on your hard drive to load your operating system. If your system doesn't find your hard drive it would post a disk read error message.
To be sure your HDD is detected by your system, you can go to your BIOS setting by pressing DEL or F1 or F2 or F12 it depends on your BIOS maker then try to see on your BIOS setting configuration if your HDD drive is detected or not.

Sometimes and always happens that we forget a media disc on our optical drive and since the default first boot device is the optical drive the system looks for a startup file on it and post a disk read error. So check if you leave any disc on your optical drive and remove it.

It is very safe to configure your BIOS setting to set the HDD as the first boot device in case we leave something on our optical drive most of the time.

Hope this helps.

We need some more info on this.
What are the steps you taken beofore this error occured? Make sure you should not have any floppy/CD in your Floppy Drive/CD Drive.

You can go to BIOS and run the HDD Self test to check your HDD status.

Please inform us the model of Laptop/Desktop you using.

I also have an Acer 7520G with intermittend power-up failures. After pressing the power button the power button light turns on, the LED of the wireless adapter blinks for a moment, the HDD drive LED is on...

Probably CPU heat related. With power OFF, try spraying compressed air into all vents. If it powers up, spray again with compressed air.

If it persists, you will have to open it up and apply a layer of thermal paste between the cpu and its heatsink.

(This is for others that have a similar problem:
Use laptop on a flat surface, not on a pillow or carpet)

Acer aspire 5310 : did not find any hard disk while xp set up

Try with another fresh XP disc. Check your Bios if it shows hard disc. If bios show the HDD than its problem with your installation CD. If bios does not show HDD than check your HDD power and IDE cable. Replace IDE cable to diognose. If this does not solve, replace HDD.
