First, try logging on to your email from another working computer of your friend's/family etc.
If it doesnt work, then you have a problem with your email, the password probably.
If it does work, then try and get a different web-browser such as Mozilla Firefox/Microsoft Internet Explorer or Opera.
It should work fine, and also try to enable cookies on your browser.
To enable cookies on Internet Explorer:

  1. Click on the Tools-menu in Internet Explorer
  2. Click on the Internet Options item in the menu - a new window opens
  3. Click on the Security tab near the top of the window. (See first image below)
  4. Click on the Custom Level... button near the bottom of the window (See first image below)
  5. Scroll down to Cookies in the new dialog, and set both "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer" and "Allow per-session cookies to Enable. (Second image below).
  6. Save changes by clicking Ok in each dialog and go to one of the configuration pages again

I have been trying to reach my home computer to check my e-mail at e-mail address raymondthoma@sbcglobal.net but I can't get any response.

You can access your e-mail from any computer anywhere in the world that has Internet access using the WEB mail access. You do not have to use your home computer.
Open a browser and type your service provider's WEB address, in this case -
www.sbcglobal,net
Then click on Mail or WEB mail enter your login and password to access your e-mail.

My windows mail is asking for user and password. Is there something I did not update with Bell south? I use the password we have but it does not work. My e-mail is ddfenton8

Links to help you resolve this problem here. and here.
BellSouth is your Internet Service provider (ISP), but your user name and password with windows mail are not necessarily the same as those you used with your isp.
Also make sure your user name includes the ISP, i.e. @bellsouth.net or whatever it is, and try not to give your address out in public forums online, or you're liable to get a lot of spam...

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Hughs.net will not deliver my email to my cousins in Wyo. Their email is scsisk@hughs.net and my email is rwsbgs1@gmail.com Thank you. Hope you can fix it.

Have you tried "hughes" instead of hughs?
Also, hughs could be blacklisting gmail due to spamming problems.
