Question about Brother Office Equipment & Supplies
I have a MFC 240C and got the 5A "read the manual" can't print error. A paper jam had occurred and knocked out a piece of plastic/door on the back of the printer. I cleared the paper jam from the back by gently pulling out the paper, replaced the plastic part in the back of printer. Then I pulled the front paper loader out- looked around in there for paper scraps from the front, and put that back in. It still would not print. Then finally I opened the ink door (front right) and pressed each ink cartridge as if to take them out, then pushed them each back in and the machine was fixed.

This is most likely a fault with the purge shaft and is not worth fixing if the printer is worth less than $200.
