It sounds like you have constant 12volts applied to your remote turn on lead. The amplifier will have 3 connections for power:

1. 12volt constant
2. chassis ground
3. 12volt switched power - this wire should come directly from your head unit. It only sends 12 volts when the radio is on allowing to amp to power up only when the radio is on.

I agree, I think the 12V is being constant, any suggestions or get it to stop being constant?

The 12volt constant connection is supposed to be constant. It has to be. The remote turn on lead is what switches the amps internal relay to allow power and ground to be connected through the amp. I think that the 12v switched is on a constant connection. As i stated, this connection should be from the remote turn on lead from the head unit which will switch the amp on ONLY when the radio is on

If I hooked up an after market stereo could it be possible that it's drawing from the battery constantly?

No, the stereo has an ON/OFF switch. If you connect the power for the stereo on the ignition side of the fuse box when you turn off the ignition switch/key hen power will be automatically cut off to the stereo even if you leave the switch on at the stereo.

My mtx elite te 1501d gets really hot fast...nd I just put it on two cvr 15..why??

This amp takes 0 gauge inputs. So I suggest you beef up your power wiring if you haven't. If your running this at 1ohm. You need a second battery, or a H/O alternator. This amp draws some current and if you can't feed it, it will overheat.

1989 Jeep Wrangler no power when key is in on position

Honestly, it sounds like a bad ignition coil. When they get corroded inside they will draw power on a scale much higher than anything else on the vehicle. It is a coil and it's job is to take a little power and make a lot of it. If it's only when the key is in the "run" position, that is likely the case. The only real difference between the two positions is that in the run position there is power being delivered to the ignition system. Good luck.

MTX Thunder series 7402 Amp cutting out at Hard pound.

Most likely the ohm load is too low, if you have the subs wired in parallel rewire them in series and see if that resolves the problem. if not then you do not have enough battery power to support the draw that the amplifier pulls. if the vehicles voltage drops below 11.5 volts the amplifier will momentarily shut off, similar to how the lights in your house dim when the a/c cuts on due to the sudden power draw. hope this helps. p.s. if you cant afford another battery right away, lowering the crossover frequency to around 65hz will greatly reduce the amount of current necessary to keep the amp pumping. (in my opinion it sound better that way anyhow.)

Ignition trouble

the battery is drained. The kill switch only turns off the motor, while the lights and anything else that can continue to draw power will continue to do so till you turn the key off.
