Ice maker does not work

The inlet water supply solenoid valve has two coils and valves. The icemaker valve is not functioning either electrically or mechanically. Best bet is to replace the complete assembly.

Does the icemaker bucket has ice cubes. If yes then your problem is in the dispensor. If no ice cubes on the icemaker bucket then your problem is with the ice maker unit.

Let say Ice cubes on the ice maker bucket and dispensor makes noise when pressing for ice cubes. Then either your ice dispensor flapper is frozen or may be ice cubes in bucket may have defrost and frozen again sticking together.

Most of the time the bin has been removed and not put back in properly. When this happens ice blocks the drive motor. Remove the bin and turn the auger by hand make sure it will turn and is not jammed. Now with the bin out push the light button in that turns the light out and have someone push the button for ice while the door is still open the motor should turn in the back make sure thereis no ice blocking it. If it turns nothing is wrong with the motor. The clicking sound is usually the motor jammed by ice or the auger not engaged on the motor. hope this helps good luck

Hi i have installed my american fridge freezer DAEWOO FRSU20DC but the ice cube maker don't seem to be working. There is not even any water going in to the ice cube tray but there is water going to the water one. Hope someone can help thanks

Both of those are controlled by a voltage signal sent to the back and rear near floor of the back of your refrigerator. The part is a water control valve. When you press the dispense water button the valve if not defective will open and allow water to travel through the bottom fresh food section water reservoir to the cup. When the ice maker dumps fresh cubes to the tray to store foe dispensing ice it also opens the valve for its side fore just enough time to refill the ice maker. Then the ice maker waits until it senses frozen ice and begins the cycle by heating elements below it to loosen the cubes to begin the cycle again. So get someone to unplug the side on pack and put the probes of a multimeter into each female side and press dispense, you should see 120 volts there. I had the same problem and even called a technician only to be told they would come out for $70.00.

I got a tip and learned that nothing was ever wrong with the icemaker. What you must do is turn the temperature up to the maximum for a period of at least 8 hours. Especially after changing the water filter or unplugging, power failure, etc. Once the icemaker is producing you can then lower your temperature gauge.

Check to make sure the water supply to the refrig is good and the inlet screen where the water line connects to the refrig is clean. You can change the amount of water fill by pressing the button on the left side of the ice maker. (indicator lights above button show setting) Selecting "Ice Plus" on front of dispenser panel increases ice production for a 24 hour period. Ice maker should produce 6 cubes per cycle, aprox.. 100 to 130 cubes in 24 hours depending on freezer compartment temp, room temp, number of door openings, etc.

Check the following:

Is the freezer door closed completely?

Is the ice storage bin installed correctly?

Is there ice in the storage bin?

Has the ice frozen in the storage bin?

Is ice stuck in the delivery chute?

Has the wrong ice been added to the storage bin? Use only
cubes produced by the current ice maker.

Has the ice melted around the auger (metal spiral) in the
ice bucket? Dump the ice cubes and clean the ice storage
bin.

Is the ice dispenser stalling while dispensing “crushed”
ice? Change the ice button from “crushed” to “cubed.” If
cubed ice dispenses correctly, depress the button for
“crushed” ice and begin dispensing again.

Has the dispenser arm been held in too long? Ice will stop
dispensing when the arm is held in too long. Wait 3 minutes
for dispenser motor to reset before using again.

The ON/OFF switch is located on the top right side of the freezer
compartment.
To turn the ice maker on, slide the control to the ON (left) position.
To manually turn the ice maker off, slide the control to the OFF
(right) position.
NOTE: Your ice maker has an automatic shutoff. The ice maker
sensors will automatically stop ice production, but the control will
remain in the ON (left) position

REMEMBER:

Allow 24 hours to produce the first batch of ice. Discard the
first three batches of ice produced.

The quality of your ice will be only as good as the quality of the
water supplied to your ice maker. Avoid connecting the ice
maker to a softened water supply. Water softener chemicals
(such as salt) can damage parts of the ice maker and lead to
poor quality ice. If a softened water supply cannot be avoided,
make sure the water softener is operating properly and is well
maintained

The Dispenser Lock (on some models)
Your dispenser can be turned off for easy cleaning or to prevent
unintentional dispensing by small children and pets.
NOTE: The lock feature does not shut off power to the product, to
the ice maker, or to the dispenser light. It simply deactivates the
dispenser levers. The ice and water dispensers will not work.
Style 1: Press the LOCK BUTTON to lock the dispenser. Press the
UNLOCK button to unlock the dispenser.
Style 2: Press and hold the LOCK OUT button to lock the
dispenser. Press and hold the LOCK OUT button a second time to
unlock the dispenser.

THE SOLENOID IN THE ON THE ICE MAKER MOTOR IS NOT WORKING IT HAS ICE BUILD UP ON IT OR IT HAS A SHORT IT PULLS THE PLUNGER THAT OPENS THE FLAP THAT LET ICE CUBES FALL OUT. REMOVE ICE MAKER AND THER ARE 2 5/16 SCREWS THAT HOLD PANEL IN THEN UN PLUG MOTOR AND USE HAIR DRYER & DEFROST MOTOR AND SOLENOID SHOULD WORK IF NOT MAY NEED TO REPLACE SOLENOID.

First pull out the ice bucket and close the door.  Set for cubed ice.  Press the button for ice to come out and listen for a loud clunk noise.  That is the sound of the solenoid.  You can open the door, hold the light switch and press the button and watch for the solenoid moving up and down.  Solenoid is at the back of the freezer in a little square opening where the rod on the ice bucket goes into.  If that solenoid is moving ok then put the bucket back in while the solenoid is in the down position and cubes should work.  If solenoid is not working then it will need to be replaced.  Let me know what you find.
