Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

Hey I bought cd player (panasonic) at Walmart and I'm a long haul truck driver. I drive a freightliner truck and I installed the cd player but after 30 minutes of playing, the cd player gets very hot to the touch. Can you tell me what is the problem?

How to install a Kenwood kdc 138 in a 1992 Ford Escort LX?

if its anything like my 92 ranger you take the dash apart around the radio and the stereo should unscrew, in my ranger the new cd player went in without any extra harness as it was the same size as the stock, if not you can but harnesses to go where your old stereo did, to connect the speakers you can buy a ford wiring harness from walmart or any store with an audio department. these plug in to your vehicles wiring harness so you don't have to cut it out, after that you simply match colours from the wires of the new cd player to the wiring harness

More than likely its a lase problem.
Try using a good DVD/CD CLEANING DISC. They are fairly inexpensive at Walmart or Radio Shack, any place that sells electronics should carry them. Cost is around $15.00. Just put it in player like its a movie and let it run. Hope this helps.

Peugeot 406 cd player works when ignition is on but when engine is started cd player wont work. Radio is fine.

Just bought 2001 peugeot 406.The radio worked perfect but CD player not reading disk or operating. That was until I realised that the CD for driving safety will not allow you to put CD into it while driving or engine running.Switched off engine then switched it to 1st batt light position & CD worked perfectly. But when I then switched key off & then started it was back to not operating.I then realised that the CD player for safety will not operate when engine is running unless you let the CD start operating first pre engine fire then wait a little more time before starting .Now it should work properly though it will not allow even the passenger to change a disk while being driven. On disk change you have to go through the same start proceedure.Hope this will get your CD working.Sherlock ??

My Panasonic CD player wont play any of my CD's and its a Panasonic CD Stereo System Model No.SC-ak610

Does it try to read the CD's are they spinning, if so it may need the laser lens cleaning. Or the rails that the little sledge that the laser moves backwards and forwards on may need cleaning and regreasing.
