Just connect the line outputs from the tape deck to the line input of the computer using a dual RCA to mini stereo adapter if necessary. Your processing software will correct any deficiencies and produce satisfactory results. Be sure to copy the original tape information before dumping the old tape; otherwise you will have a "mystery" CD

Kindly, read the previous posts. I have taken some time to compose them accurately and carefully. I cannot think of any more information to submit to resolve my problem. I can't print. According to...

If everything at the printer looks fine (test prints, and no errors on the display) I would de-install and reinstall the software. The DE-install is important, DO NOT just reinstall over the top of the current installation. Also I would reboot after I removed the software and BEFORE I reinstall it. It might be overkill but it won't hurt to be through.

I'm considering buying the 180636 "surround sound bar speaker system." My question is, is this JUST a speaker system, which needs to be connected to a separate amplifier or "home theater...

The bar speaker system needs to be connected to an amplifier. What the bar speaker does is replicate a five speaker home theater system using just an amplifier.

The only thing that will give you a better sound quality is some type of amplifier/speaker set-up, wether you choose to have an amp and two speakers or and amp with five speakers and a subwoofer is up to you.

Stops working and reads Overload

hi there i have had this problem with technics amplifiers generally with them it was negative and positive mix up between input terminals for the speakers or in other case's running the amp with 2 many speakers.
eg. having 2 speakers Bi wired into 1 input making a 6.1 receiver into a 12.1 which makes the amp struggle causing overload or the worst case is a power unit problem.

OVERLOAD

First of all the KEF is a powered sub which means that it wants a line level signal NOT a speaker level. Send the signal from a tape output or pre-amp output to the sub input. The overload is because the impedence load for the speaker output is too low and looks like a short to the amp. Continued attempts to connect the system as described will result in damage to the output section of the amp.

Please let me know if you need more info.

I hope this helps you

Overload

The manufacturer is Panasonic which uses the brand name Technics for consumer products. The unit is shutting off because a problem is detected in the amp section. This particular model uses an Amp-pac which is a single component that contains the entire output amp. That part is likely to be defective. The part number is: RSN3306P and is available for $65.73 from tritronicsinc.com

The overload message is the old version of "protect" mode. This means that a problem has been detected in the output amp section and that section is shutdown to prevent further damage. Your unit uses amp-pacs. One or more are bad. These are marked RSN3305P and cost about $66 each.
