My fan works fine - all 3 speeds. But I canoot get the light to go off. My pin settings are 1-4 On and 5 Off. If I turn 5 On, nothing works. If I turn any of the others off, nothing works. Does anyone know where to get the fatory default pin settings?

I have the opposite problem.  My fan turns on during the night at high speed and sometimes turns on the light, too!  I've changed the frequency 3 times, but have to pay someone to do so, so I've given up and just unplug it at night.  My problem, so someone tells me might be that mine is not grounded.

How do I stop my hunter's ceiling fan from causing the breaker to trip?

Is it a new installation? Your ceiling fan should never trip a breaker unless it has a problem in the fan or light fixture attached to it.

The remote was dropped and now the fan does not work. It is not an easy task to get to the fan to replace since the ceiling is 18 ft high. We were sent a new remote and told it would work, but it does...

The remote has to be programmed to match the existing fan's receiver code. The programming information should have come with the hand held remote. If it didn't, contact whomever you purchased it from.

Replacing the batteries (2) should solve the problem. There batteries in the handheld remote and batteries in the receiver inside the fan's cowling. When installing the batteries, be sure they are facing the proper direction. If they aren't the remote will not work. Also, keep in mind, the wall switch must be ON when using the remote control.

Hope this helped you.

I have a ceiling fan (Hunter Douglas #9700 60" Grand Lodge that was purchased in Nov 07. Almost immediately, the highest fan speed did not work so we have been using it on the medium speed. It is now...

The noise you hear may be due to a loose screw(s) in one or more of the fan blade irons. The Irons are what holds the wooden blades and connects to the motor housing. It's usually the screws that attach iron to the motor housing, that work their way loose over time.If you have a light kit on the fan, check all the tension screws that hold the glass globes, shades, whatever you have to the light fixture(s).

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

I moved into a house with 2 hunter ceiling fans with remote control. Both are set to the same frequency. Where is the transmitter located on the fan to change remote frequency setting?

Typically it is directly under the very top cover. it is slide under the hanger on the ceiling. Just remove the 4 screws and drop the cover and it should be there.

Our handyman installed our Hunter Douglas Westside fan yesterday, and there is still a strong electrical burn smell everytime it's on. Should I be concerned? Thank you!

If you are controlling the fan speed with a wall type dimmer switch, the mechanical pull chain switch must be in the high speed position ONLY. If the pull chain switch is in the med or low position and you are using a dimmer type wall switch to control the speed you are burning the motor up. If this does not apply to your situation then it is possible that the fan is defective or maybe some packing material inadvertantly got inside the fan
