I have a subwoofer and speakers from a surround sound system but the dvd part has blown up can i use the subwoofer and speakers with another unit

sure u can. but depends either your system is active or passive. active means the speakers (or sub) driven by built-in amplifier, so the dvd delivers a low signal to the speakers amp and they amplify the sound for the speakers. passive means the amplifier is built into the dvd and delivers the amplified sound signal to the speakers thru speaker cable. if you tell me model number and brand i can find out what type they are.

I just bought the VN205N monitor. I am confused about the sound component. The store salesman says I have speakers in my monitor, but I do not have a plug at the back in which to put the cable in and the...

If it has built-in speakers then it will have on screen volume control, that is how you can tell if it has built-in speakers, I cannot find any info on this VN205N. You are better off using power speakers anyway with much better sound than the the monitor built-in speakers.

I have built in speakers and for some reason it tells me that i have no sound device

The Sound Device it is talking about refers to sound hardware on your computer. Look at your Control Panel, then Device Manager, then look at Sound, video and Game controllers. That will tell you if you have Audio hardware installed, into which speakers get plugged. If you want more help, please do not hesitate to ask.

I can not tell in my monitor has speakers

Most monitors do not have built in speakers and the ones that do have them are usually of fair quality. Look for speaker grills under your monitor's screen. Didn't find speaker grills? You can buy computer speakers at a computer store or at Walmart. Your computer, desktop or laptop, has a green jack that you plug a set of speakers into. The volume control may be on the speakers or on your keyboard.

Speakers

This is a very normal phenomenon.. What is actually happening is while the speakers are turned up, they are amplifying the interference from anything near the audio card within you're computer. Just the same way that you can always tell your cellphone is about to go off. The issue is due to bad insulation in the wires and very often found in cheap speakers. The only way around this is to upgrade your sound card and/or speakers. If this is coming from built in speakers, you're basically SOL. I hope this helps.

No sound from built in speakers

the built in speakers on the monitor are only speakers, they are not run through the video signal cable and have to be connected separately.
many monitors with speakers provide a stereo cable in the package but dont tell what the cable is for.
If there is a cable provided there will be a small jack on the monitor that connects to audio out on the sound card.
There may also be a stereo plug combined with the video cable, that likewise connects to audio out.
If the hardware is connected, there may be a volume control on the monitor that may be muted.
If the problem is a recent thing for a system that previously had working sound with this monitor, try the mute on the audio settings

My hp speakers wont work

Sample testing is usually a firmware built into the monitor amplifier ie the monitor is testing itself. you problem possibly lies with the computer sound system. Tell me more about this. Is it an 'On-board' sound card or separate PCI card. You can determine this by looking at the back of the computer- if all the connectors - sound- PS2 and USB are in the same panel - then it is an on-board system. If the sound is separate in one of the card position then it is a PCI card. The possibility is the sound system needs setting up- check your computer paperwork/manual and utilities disk for Audio drivers. Come back with some answers
