I cant delete contacts from dailled list and cal log

To clear all notifications
1. Open the Notifications panel.
2. Touch the Clear icon .
All event-based notifications will be cleared; ongoing notifications will
remain in the list.
TIP You can also swipe the notifications to the left or right to remove them.

To clear the call log - From the Home screen, touch the Phone Key (in the Quick Keys
bar) and then the Call logs tab at the top of the screen.
The most recent calls are located at the top of the list. Scroll down to
see older entries. Once you see the cal log press the Menu key. Bottom far right. This will give you the option to Clear all .

I cant recall if you can do it on the iphone 3 but I know on the iphone 4 you can just swipe your finger across the number and 'delete' will pop up in red. Otherwise you might only be able to delete all of them. If your phone is jailbroken you can download the 'recent/call log delete' in cydia

go to your call log > select which log you want to delete > option > delete. this will only delete from call log not from your contact list. thank you.

To delete entire call log; Open the call log from home screen or menu, then press the left HARD button (four squares above it), then tap delete list on the screen.

To delete all messages/ conversations with 1 or more contacts: Open messaging from home screen or menu, then press the left HARD button, tap Delete several on the screen, then select the contact/s.

Individual messages within a conversation can be deleted by tapping the screen on the message to be deleted then tapping delete (beneath forward message on the screen)

Yes go to cantacts>then Go to rejected list there your no will be there delete it ur problem is solved

i did restore my phone's factory setting but the call log cannot be deleted when i press delete it says invalid selection, i did cleared all call list but it wont gone.. why?? how can i delete it??

go to your menu, select call log, then from call log options, filter it through received messages, it will give you the list of people who texted you, press delete and select the contacts you wanted to delete from your call log. 
hence you can do this, press call key, it will bring you immediately to call log menu, you will see the list of people who you contacted and who contacted you, filter it to your own liking and delete.

try to open your call manager or call log menu. once open, you can see the list of people whom contacted you and whom you contacted, there's a call log list, press it and it will give you a drop down menu, which will filter the people, select sent messages and it will give you the list people whom you texted, from there you can delete them and they will be removed from your recent contacts.

  your arrow keys have problem, so take it to the service center for repair..now i ll tell you how to access ur phone without arrow keys.. imagine ur menu is like wat i shown below..

       cal log      phonebook      applications

       browser    messages       files

       calendar   camera           settings

now if u want to access "cal log" press 1 ; "phonebook" press 2; " applns" press 3 ; "messages" press 5.....like this as in your keypad...

now select contacts by pressing any suitable number...select options...assume if your options are placed like this

view
create contact
send via
delete
copy to sim

then u can access view by pressing 1, create contact by pressing 2...and copy to sim by pressing 5....do it as it is in ur mobile...
