Re: Monitor is working out of scan range
Try reinstallign Word, it seems your normal.dot has incorrect settings. What happens if you open a word file without opening word first? Does word work normally? Than clear the document and save it as normal.dot in your my documents folder.

Try to see if this works on another computer first, if it does, then it assumes the monitor is ok. Then as the computer boots up, boot to safe mode by pressing F8 and once in that state, set the display to a mode that the graphics card will support. If none of the full colour options work, the graphics card may be incompatible, try changing the graphics card.
1. Turn off both your computer and the monitor.
2. Unplug the video cable from the back of the computer.
3. Turn on the monitor.
If the monitor is functioning properly, you will see a box in the illustration below.
This box appears during normal operation if the video cable becomes disconnected or

controller and computer system; your monitor is functioning properly.
The Power supply inside the monitor can be hazardous and donot open the monitor while power on.
Donot work with the monitor when it is open and the power supply is on.
If there is something wrong with the input signal, a message appears on the screen or the
screen goes blank although the power indicator LED is still on. The message may indicate
that the monitor is out of scan range or that you need to check the signal cable.

Display This Video Mode
This means that the monitor cannot synchronize
with the signal that it is receiving from the computer. Either the signal is
too high or too low for the monitor to use. See Specifications
for the Horizontal and Vertical frequency ranges addressable by this monitor.
Recommended mode is 1024x768 @ 60Hz.
Occasionally, no warning message appears, but the
screen is blank. This could also indicate that the monitor is not synchronizing
with the computer or the monitor is in a power save mode.
Describe your AOC S7M51, 17 in. CRT Monitor Problem. with external TV Tuner card connected, Message shows "Warning, Not Support, Out of range" and with CPU connected, the same message shows from the booting... ??? are AOC monitors trusted for the efficiency ?
some how your screen resolution has changed above or below what your monitor can display. you need to boot your computer using another monitor that can work with the resolution your computer has switched to(i used a spare crt monitor when it happened to me) change your resolution in display properties to a normal level like 1027x768, and while the computer is on swap the monitor cables to verify the lcd is working.
It is perfectly safe to unplug the video cable and plug it back in while the computer is turnned on.
Most commonly, this problem is caused by an incorrect refresh rate setting. LCD monitors typically DO NOT support refresh rates higher than 60hz - and this is no exception. Try running the game in "safe mode" if it has one. Adjusting the in-game video settings should solve the problem, just look for a screen refresh rate or any video-related setting with a number followed by "hz". Set it to 60, everything should be fine.
It could also be that at some point the game changes resolution (this frequently occurs if there is an in-game movie or cut-scene). In this case the resolution settings for the in-game movie might be at fault, check them if you can.
first, 68.5 khz -85hz means horizontal raster frequency of source signal is at 68.5 kilohertz and repeats vertically at 85 hertz. (hertz means "cycles per second).
the sony monitor cannot "read" the signal being sent from the pc. change the screen resolution to a lower number like 75 or 70 hertz vertical.
It probabily happens after you change the settings of display in control panel (windows), if so restart the machine and press function key <F8> after memory test and you shoud get to the startup menu, choose VGA mode and undo the changes in display that you have made.
