Hi puntaloma

Your unit should hold settings for at least a week with the power off. Inside the unit is a backup power supply capacitor that maintains the preset memory. This part will be faulty and require replacement. It is not a user serviceable part, so if you wish to fix the problem, you will need to take it to a sony repair guy.

I bought Yamaha RX V565 4yrs ago, then after 2 years, may receiver always shut off 5 minutes everytime I open. What is the problem or reason of shutting down my receiver? Thank you

press and hold both the "DIRECT" and "TONE CONTROL" buttons and press power and see what it says on the display. This will give us some idea of what is causing the receiver to turn off.

Reset a Onkyo TX-DS787

Did you try to ask this question on the support forum from Onkyo? because I don't know what you mean with reset.
When a device is defect, there is no reset button, to repair it. Only what software is involved or settings in a memory that can lose settings when the power is down, can be "reset"

All memory is lost when I power down the unit.

You need to find the on board battery and replace it, usually there is a small Cell, on the Main Board, it has most probably gone flat, and this is what causes your loss of settings etc, at power down. Either that, or a wire that is meant to be connected to an always alive wire, or straight to the battery, has broken, or not connected. You always have to have some sort of power to keep the memory chip's settings intact, when the main power goes off.

Kenwood VR-715 reset?

Hello llarosa,

Yes, there is. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, then
plug it back in while holding down the POWER ON/STANDBY key.
That will clear the contents of the memory, reset the microcomputer and take the unit back to factory settings. Hope this helps. Let me know.
