Question about Canon PIXMA iP5300 InkJet Photo Printer

Won't turn on at the on switch on the printer

Canon PIXMA iP5300.
The printer has stopped working at all.
The AC lead is plugged in & the power source good. (although we have just had a power brown out) .
It is just coming up 1 year old.

A brown out has also just killed my iP5300...
Has been hardly used. Very disappointed.

UPDATE: After leaving the power cord disconnected for over a day, I plugged it back in, and it has come back to life!

Pixma ip1600 won't turn on. No power cord just a cord from printer to computer. I unpluged the entire system and waited 15 minutes and it still won't power up. Any suggestions?

You need the power cord which has a polarized plug on one end. The other end (a figure 8 like shape) will fit into the printer. See http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/7/0900005347/01/ip1600esi_us.pdf . Whenever I try to print on my Pixma iP5300 I get a message saying Operator Error. Resume button, switching off/on, rebooting - nothing helps.

I got my printer working by cleaning the catridge interfaces and also running the waste reset option.

Where do I find the CANCELL button on my Printer CANON iP5300? When doing a job, sometimes I want to cancell but I cannot find the cancell button! The printer keeps on printing and wasting Ink and Paper.

Cancel button is not available on your Canon iP5300 Printer

please do the following :-

First you have to turn off your computer.
Then you will get a error message on your computer.
Now you can cancel your prints.......

the problems are :-

cartridges are not recognised or installed
there is a paper jam.

Printer doesn't turn's on

Per Canon:

Solution: Disconnect and Reconnect AC power adapter or power cord to the device and electrical source

Secure all Power Connections

Disconnect the AC Power Adapter or power cord from both the device and the electrical source.
Then reconnect it.
If you are still unable to obtain power to the device, try another power outlet.
If possible, try connecting power directly to a wall outlet (as opposed to using a surge protector or power strip...just as a troubleshooting measure).

If this does not work, have you tried a different outlet to ensure that the outlet isn't the issue? Also, when you press the POWER button, does the printer respond at all, or is it basically dead?

Pixma iP5300 I get a message saying Operator Error. Resume button, switching off/on. I cleane printer heads with air compressor, but nothing helps on each computer i try i always have the same error. Well it's no use to search further more as somebody told me the blocking of the printer is due to planned obsolescence by the manufacturer (about 2 years for an inkjet). And now I stay on my expensives ink cartridges that are of no use anymore. Thus, unwittingly, we produce tons of waste that will one day bury our planet.:-(
