I've found the easiest way to get the musice from my friend's iTunes onto the player is to just highlight them in iTunes, Copy, then Paste in the Music folder in my player. It worked a couple times, but now whenever I try it, the laptop (compaq btw) crashes, and shuts down. My friend now won't let me plug in my Zen :(

Step 1: an itunes account ? b> An iPod is a portable media player that lets users listen to music wherever they are. Before you can listen to songs on the iPod, you must first put music onto the device. If you have been using different MP3 players in the past, adding music to an iPod can be slightly confusing. The reason for this is that iPods are not compatible with Windows Media Player, Real Player or Winamp. By using iTunes, however, you can add music to any iPod.
• Open iTunes. • 2 Add music to iTunes. To do this, click "File." Choose "Add Folder to Library." Then, find the folder on your computer that holds the music you wish to put onto the iPod. Highlight that folder and click "OK." The music will be put into the iTunes Library. • • 3 Plug the iPod into the computer. After a few seconds, you will see the iPod listed under "Devices" on the left-hand side of iTunes. • 4 Click "Music" under the "Library" option on the left-hand side of iTunes. All of the music files in the iTunes Library will then be shown in the middle of iTunes. • 5 Double-click the album that contains the music you want to put onto the iPod. The songs on that album will then be listed. • 6 Highlight the song you want to add to the iPod. • 7 Drag that file over to the name of your iPod located under "Devices" (as mentioned in Step 3). The song will then be placed onto the iPod. Do this for all of the music you want to put onto the iPod. • 8 Click the "All Albums" button at the top of iTunes to get back to the list of albums on the iTunes Library. • 9 Repeat Steps 5-7 until you are done putting music on the iPod. • 10 Disconnect the player when you are done.
The exclamation mark next to a title in iTunes means that iTunes
cannot locate the song associated with that title (original file cannot
be found). The cause for this is an incorrect setting of iTunes
preferences when copying iPod songs.
Before copying your iPod songs, setup your iTunes preferences as
Open iTunes preferences (in the Edit menu)
Select the Advanced tab.
Make sure the box next to "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when

Yes, for any Apple product, media has to be synced with iTunes. For Sansa you can just transfer it with your Windows Explorer, but not for iPod. Download iTunes, install, connect your iPod. The driver will be installed automatically. Also eject from iTunes and not from Windows.
Uninstall the egzisting itunes by following steps. Start menu> Control panel>click on the Control Panel home on the upper left side>same windows you will see the programs and under Unisnstal a program waith for list of programs refreshes highlight Itunes and press the Uninstall tab and reinstall the Itunes
I believe iTunes may not like to sync with not apple players, but I am sure DRM protection is to blame here. You can try to sync your music with the software provided by Zen, or a program called MediaMonkey, to see if it works. Otherwise, if the music is DRM protected .mp4, you can always burn the songs into a standard AUDIO CD, and then rip the music back to your computer, that way it loses the DRM protection, and should be easy to sync without problems. http://www.mediamonkey.com
I found the solution. When I connected my device to computer, it was unknown. I tried to reinstalled the software; however, the problem was still going on. To solve it;
1. Connect your device to your computer,
2. My computer, system properties, device manager
3. Find Creative zen which has attention icon
4. Click the Zen and then delete it
5. Plug out your device, and plug it again. That's all.
