Found this solution elsewhere, hope it helps:

Method 1:
Remove the Photo conductor unit, use a pencil or similar to hold in the catch on the front door flap. This catch locks the spindle from moving, once it is pressed in you can rotate the spindle by hand from the top of the printer. Just be sure to line up the slots for each cartridge correctly before letting the catch go.

Method 2:
Go to reset menu on printer LCD Panel.
Hit enter button.
Scroll down until you get to the "Change Toner M/C/Y/K" hitting the enter key when you get the appropriate letter.
This will rotate the appropriate cartridge to the opening.

Method 3:
You will have to wait for a "Toner Low" message. Then do the following:

  1. Make sure that Ready or Sleep is displayed in the LCD panel.
  2. Select Change Toner X (The letters C, M, Y, or K appear in place of X, indicating the colors Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black.) in the Reset Menu on the control panel.
  3. While the cartridge X you selected above moves to the cartridge replacement position, Please Wait appears on the LCD panel.
  4. Replace Toner X appears in the LCD panel when the cartridge to be replaced reaches the cartridge replacement position.
If you found my solutions helpful, kindly take a moment to "Accept" it.

Thanks.

Hi,

If you are referring to rotating the spindle in order to install the Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black toners cartridges respectively, it is done automatically by the printer. Pls follow these steps:
1. Make sure the printer is turned on, then open front cover.
2.
Verify that the cover from inside of the printer has been removed.
3. Shake the new toner cartridge thoroughly.
4. Hold the tag and gently pull the toner seal upward.
5. Insert the toner cartridge firmly with aligning the arrow mark.
6. Lock the toner cartridge.
7. Close the cover the front cover.
8. Repeat 1 to 7 steps to install other toner cartridges.

Incidentally, FixYa has an illustrated Online User Manual and Guide for Epson Aculaser C1100 Printer here where the above steps were detailed.

Should you be interested, the user
/setup manual maybe downloaded from here whereas a service manual is available here.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

    Hi again,

You need to cycle the steps several times up until the black shows in the printer's display.

Either exhaust the contents of the cartridge or if you want to change a single particular cartridge, you have to go through several levels of the printer's menu system and select it so that the printer rotates it into an accessible position.

My HP m3035 printer is making noise in the toner cartridge compartment on the right grinding sounds. I changed the Toner, still amking the noise any ideas?

Open the rear door. Power on the printer. Watch and listen as the fuser rotates. Does the noise occur when the fuser rotates? if yes - replace it. If you still think it's coming from the toner, remove the toner, close the toner door. When the motors start turning the noise should be gone. Insert the toner and listen again

How do I change black toner? Blue is accessible but how do I get it to rotate?

I have opened and closed the front door a number of times so that the cartridges rotate to different positions. It's trial and error until the right color is in the position to be changed.

Toners c1100 epson

Yes this one is a pain.
On the LCD display choose the 'Reset Menu'
Then within that menu keep going through the (many) options till you get to
'Change Toner M' (if it is Magenta)
or 'Change Toner C' (if it is Cyan)
etcetera.

Once you select the appropriate 'Change Toner' it will rotate to offer the correct toner. Open up the lid at the front (the word Epson is on it). Reach inside and change the position of the coloured part of the toner cartridge on the right to the Unlock symbol and then ease the cartridge out. It comes out at a slight angle as the part you move to unlock it comes out slightly in front of the other side.

Then put the new toner cartridge in and turn the coloured part to the locked symbol and close up.

The same process will allow you to move any of the toners in and out.

Cheers

Toner changing

Open the front door, poke a screwdriver into the interlock on the left side. Rotate the carriage as you wish.

You can also rotate to the correct cartridge by using the printer driver and via the control panel on the printer.
