If you used a copied Windows CD or even a good windows CD. The odds are windows did not install all the HP printer/scanner files you need listed in the windows system32 folder. Don't bother calling HP I did that myself & I seem to have more information the HP. Suggest you do a complete fresh install of window. That's the only way to get the missing files back into windows. You can uninstall Hp's software all day long & reinstall & it will not make a difference. (Sorry). Again make sure you are not using a copied windows CD.

Why won't my printer let me scan my document to the computer?

Could be a number of things. I would suspect an incorrectly installed printer program. I'd uninstall the printer software and restart the computer and then reload.
If the printer is a HP, don't plug it in until the software tells you to. Otherwise it won't work properly.

Do not know how to scan and email documents from hp psc 1350 I need step by step instructions

Scanning is the process of converting pictures and text into an electronic format for your computer. You can scan photos and text documents. Because the scanned image or text is in an electronic format, you can bring it into your word processor or graphics software program and modify it to suit your needs. You can do the following:
• Scan photos of your kids and e-mail them to relatives, create a photographic inventory of your house or office, or create an electronic scrapbook. • Scan text from an article into your word processor and quote it in a report, saving you a lot of retyping. To use the scan features, your HP PSC and computer must be connected and turned on. The HP PSC software must also be installed and running on your computer prior to scanning. To verify that the HP PSC software is running on a Windows PC, look for the hp psc 1300 series icon in the system tray at the lower right side of your screen, next to the time.
You can start a scan from your computer or from your HP PSC. These instructions are to scan direct from the printer.
Note: Bright direct sunlight on your HP PSC, or halogen desk lamps placed close to your HP PSC, might affect the quality of scanned images. Note: High resolution scanning (600 dpi or higher) requires a large amount of hard disk space. If there is not enough hard disk space available, your system might stall.
Scan an original 1 Load your original face down in the left front corner of the glass. 2 Press Scan. A preview image of the scan appears in the HP Scan window on the computer, where you can edit it. (For more information about editing a preview image, see the onscreen hp photo & imaging help that came with your software.)
3 Make any edits to the preview image in the HP Scan window. When you have finished, click Accept. The HP PSC sends the scan to the HP Photo & Imaging Gallery (HP Gallery), which automatically opens and displays the image. The HP Gallery has many tools that you can use to edit your scanned image. You can improve the overall image quality by adjusting the brightness, sharpness, color tone, or saturation. You can also crop, straighten, rotate, or resize the image.
When the scanned image looks just the way you want it, you can open it in another application, send it via e-mail, save it to a file, or print it. For more information about using the HP Gallery, see the onscreen hp photo & imaging help that came with your software.
Hope this helps!

How do I E-mail a hard copy document I have using HP Officejet 6500?

well it depends on what driver you have installed for that printer .. if you only have the basic print driver installed then you will need to go to hp website and download the print and scan driver for it

for windows XP you can find the driver here:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-77757-2&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=228&product=3795314&sw_lang=

for windows 7 or Vista here:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-77757-2&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3795314&sw_lang=&os=4062

But chances are you probably already have the scanner driver installed and you can usually find the scanner icon in "my computer" in winxp or in "devices and printers" in vista and 7 and by clicking that icon you can usually scan the document to a folder on your computer (i usually scan it to the desktop so its easy to find)
then you can open your email program and compose a new email message or reply to one and just make sure you click on the "Attach file" button and attach the document you just scanned to the email before clicking send....

Hope this info helps

Can't download iTunes, IE 8, HP Printer...Fatal Error MSI Scan is the usual statement, although I've gotten numbered failures too. But Fatal Error is the main one.

Is there any specific code number the time the fatal error MSI Scan appeared. The error message that you stated has a broad meaning. There should be a corresponding code for this, so that we can determine the exact problem.

However, this error has something to do with the HP printer. This is the solution that I could give you:

To resolve this error message follow these troubleshooting steps :

1.Download the access denied and the fatal error patch from the HP web site.

a.Access denied patch

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software4/COL9076/oj-24444-DANGEROUS URL REMOVED

b. Fatal Error Patch :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software4/COL9625/oj-26831-DANGEROUS URL REMOVED

If the problem persists.

2.Remove the .Net framework from Add/remove directory.

3.In my computer then "C:/program files/" delete the framework folder.

4.Go to %windir%\system32\. Rename mscoree.dll to mscoree1.dll

The problem should be resolved.

RAM DDR2 PC 1300

DDR 2 will _not_ work the way it's supposed to in a DDR slot, if at all. If you want to see what memory your computer can use, go to crucial.com or similar website for a free scan of your computer. From the spec. sheet it looks like your machine takes a maximum of 2 sticks of 1 gig each (for a total of 2 gigs) DDR SDRAM, either 333 or 400MHz of memory
