Check the wire feeler that normally sits on top of the ice. If it is lifted above the ice it shuts the icemaker off.

Ice maker won't stop filling

The ice maker it self is what powers up the water valve after every ice harvest. You have a bad ice maker or the wires shorted somewhere in the harness.

Ice maker doesn't work

Testing the ice maker:
As far as the smaller line (1/4") you have to manually advance the ice maker and wait for it to call for water with the 1/4" line disconnected from the valve. For whirlpool and its subsidaries, you can do this by getting a jumper wire, removing the cover of icemaker, which you jsut grab and pull off, and using the jumper wire insert one end of the wire into the cirle marked m and the other in the cicle marked n. Leave there until you hear a click and sometimes see a little spark behind the modular head wheel. For GE, you turtn the ice maker off, wait about a minute then turn back on, water should automatically shoot water in the icemaker. That will tell you the water valve is good and icemaker is bad, or the ice maker is good and the valve is bad if no water. Also if you see ice in the maker that hasn't dumper and the teeth of the icemaker are facing any direction other than two o clock position, the icemaker is bad. Also check the fill tube to be sure the no ice is blocking water from coming in.

Whirlpool ice maker locks out after every cycle. I removed the ice maker to clear a ice jam and after I reinstalled it, it only runs one cycle and the control locks in the up position shutting the ice...

Hello,

The internal part that is supposed to relases the control arm when the icemaker is harvestiing a cycle is hanging up and the icemaker itself or motor board would need to be replaced...all that is really needed would be the motor module and its less expensive the part numbers are

ENTIRE ICEMAKER 4317943

MODULE W10190935

depending on which one ya decide to replace (the entire icemaker or just the module) it can be purchased at your local appliance parts store or online at

Sears model KSRA25FKBL00 How do I remove the icemaker to replace it

Hi there,

Well you can please follow the below steps -

1. Ensure that the water going into the ice maker is shut off. If there is not a valve on the water line going to the refrigerator, check under the house, because there is usually a shutoff valve there.
If there is no shutoff valve for the water line, which is rare, it is possible to cap off the water line with a screw on end cap. If this is the case, you would have to shut the water off completely in the house, cap off the water line, and turn the water back on.
2. Remove the container that holds the ice, as well as any plastic shelves.
3. Remove the screws holding the ice maker in place. There are usually only two and they connect the icemaker to the inside of the freezer.
4. Disconnect the wiring harness that is hooked up to the ice maker.
5. Disconnect the water line from the ice maker.
6. Remove the ice maker.

Please post comments for more help or information........

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Water overfills icemaker. Won't shut off properly

Good day,
There is a micro switch in the ice maker that turns on the water valve for approx. 7 seconds, and then closes it.
If the valve is hanging open, even though receiving no input from the ice maker then the water valve needs replaced.

Icemaker does not make ice. Appears no water is getting to maker.

If your ice maker has stopped producing ice completely, check these, in this order:

  • It may be turned off. Look for the wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If the wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. If so, try one of these:

    • If your ice maker has a small red plastic lever, lower it to lower the wire.

    • If there's no plastic lever, simply lower the wire.

In either case, the ice maker should begin producing ice again. Also make sure that the temperature is 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly.

  • The ice maker fill tube may be blocked with ice. If so, melt the blockage using a hair dryer-but be careful to not melt any plastic parts! Also replace the water shut-off valve or water-inlet valve, or both, if necessary.

  • The ice maker head assembly may have broken parts. Look to see if the gears are broken. Check to see if the small plastic arms that rest against the ice rake are broken. If the ice maker head assembly is modular and you've found broken parts, you can just replace it.

Icemaker

Check the power conection to the ice maker. If that's ok, then I would think the solenoid that controls the water flow has gone bad. Unfortunately, you will likely have to replace the whole ice maker, I don't think they are reparable.
