I have a built in web cam how do i get it to work

Hi p_seiod

HP COMPAQ PRESARIO CQ50-215NR WEBCAM FUNCTION

To initialize some notebook webcams, moving the mouse arrow/cursor to the far left of the screen activates a hidden webcam control panel in which the webcam can be activated by clicking.

(My) Computer > right click on the camera icon at the bottom of the window (scroll down if necessary)> send to > Desktop (create shortcut) > double click on the new desktop webcam icon.

If there is still a problem with the webcam, it might be a webcam driver problem.

Reinstall the webcam drivers and software > restart the computer > reconnect the webcam > (My) Computer > right click on the camera icon at the bottom of the window (scroll down if necessary)> send to > Desktop (create shortcut) > double click on the new desktop webcam icon.

If this does not work it may be faulty and should be returned under warranty. If there is no warranty or the warranty period has elapsed, you might need to buy a new webcam component which can be ordered from HP Support Parts Store site:

I hope this helps.

How do i connect another webcam using my acer?

This depends on the webcam you intend to install.
Most webcams go into USB hubs once you install the driver for the new webcam it creates an icon for you either in my programs or on the desktop. If the webcam is connected to any of your USB hubs it will automatically start working.
This is the procedure regardless of the make of the unit.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Unable to view frinds on laptop using the webcam. Hard disk of the laptop is new

You're not going to see your friends on your web cam, have they checked their cables for proper connection, as well have you checked yours and made sure you have the most updated driver for your cam and the software running it.
