There is only 1 reason as to the unit still running but not heating if its running then all thermos must be intact so it has to be the heating coil take the unit appart make sure the two heating points still have the cables attached if you can do a polarity test on the element that will define its blown then replace the coil in most cases when the coil blows you can see a burn mark were it did

best luck

please take the time to rank this advice

With the Avanti D110, it also uses an additional fan belt which, if it breaks, will not heat. This is separate from the drum rotation belt. My dryer was spinning the drum fine but not getting any heat. The secondary fan belt was broken and was the problem. While it was open, the heating coil and other electrics were checked to be ok.

That is the part that broke on mine also, but I cannot find anywhere to get the part # or to order it... any help appreciated!!

On the parts exploded view in the manual, it doesn't have the part number. You actually have to call Avanti and tell them the part you need, the secondary fan-drive belt.

ahh thanks so much!! I got all the numbers off the dryer so I'll be set when I call.

Where would the thermal fuse be on a whirlpool 120-volt electric compact dryer. That's got to be the problem I'm getting no heat at all.

There are a number of thermal limiters in your machine. These automatically reset at lower temperatures. Check your BREAKER, 99% of the time, one side of the power gets tripped, the machine will run, but no heat.

Creda compact 3 37301 tumble dryer pull down door. Not heating only rarely, have changed the element. It heated a little while but starts blowing cold air. Drum is working and fax at back

I would suspect thermal fuse, easiest way to test is to tape wires together and start dryer. Safety note if left like this it will start a fire. It is located on the back of the dryer and has two wires connected to it. Here is a website that will help:

http://www.partselect.com/dryer+dryer-wont-heat+repair.htm

Usually, failure of a thermal switch is caused by extreme heat: meaning that the dryer is not venting properly, clean dryer of lint inside and outside as well as the vent tube. Good Luck Tim

Maytag compact dryer low heat doesnot dry. works for hrs clothes still damp.

i am sending you all the possibilities for your problem, check either of these causes ----and than let me know if it is solved----

Power from the house
Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected.

Heating element
Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable.

Thermal fuse
On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.)

Wiring
A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.
