JVC KD-G340 Power Problem

I just bought a new JVC receiver for my truck to replace the factory one that had stopped working.

When I hook up the yellow wire (unit is grounded, red wires connected), the unit will start up, buzz a second or two (::think CD ejecting sound::), then go off. Pushing the I/O doesn't do anything, but if I hit the eject button, the unit will try to eject, then go back off.

Any ideas?

I have the same exact promblem. If i press the display button or eject button it lights off but immediatley turns back off. I double checked the wires and everything. I matched the wires from my 2002 saturn sl1 and the jvc kd-g340 and it looks right. But it wont turn on.

Have everything wired right, CD player worked until I went to put it all back together, now it will take or eject a cd but will not power on fully. I didn't change anything but the speakers, what's wrong?

    Thanks, Seth

I had this same problem...you probably have the wires wrong. Double check your connections for the red and yellow wires from the headunit. Make sure that your red wire is going to a 12 volt source that only switches on with the ignition.

How set bass on kd g340

Do you have User manual? If not, it can be downloaded from jvc website: http://books.jvc.com/booklist.asp?Model=kd-g340. Refer to page 20. Press EQ, then use up/dn to select mode, then use right/left to select tone, then use vol to adjust.

Try connecting the yellow wire to a constant power source. That is, a source that still has power when the key is turned off. The yellow wire controls the memory of the radio.

Need to wire JVC model KD-G340 into a 97 Kia Sephia

Do not cut the wires from the car. Instead, call Crutchfield at 888-955-6000 and order the adapter part number 120701003. When you call them, ask for color coding. For JVC, refer to the attached picture. Match the adapter color code with that of JVC. If the adapter color code is the same, then connect ground (black), battery (yellow), and wire from ignition switch (red) securely. Turn on the car and see the radio works. If it works, connect one by one speakers and confirm. Remember, perfect connection gives reliable installation.
