Question about Belkin (F5D7230-4) Router (587009)

Wireless My Belkin G wireless router just stopped working. I checked the power cord and all the wires but it won't light up or do anything at all. Is it just dead or is there something I can do????

Change the power adapter and see ist working otherwise buy a new one

Belkin uses a 9-12volt backward compatible power plug. Check make sure you did not grab the wrong power cord if not it could have just popped the power board inside replace the router. Walmart has the Netgear wireless N for around $38

Its saying my wireless internet is connected but when i plugged the internet cord into the router, it doesnt work anymore! its been like that for about a month & a half now.


Make sure all the wires are connected properly. 1.-Unplug your modem and router from the power supply. Wait 1 minute. 2.-Plug your modem back to the power and wait for all the lights to stop flashing. 3.-Plug your router back to the power and wait for the lights to stop flashing
Follow these steps and your internet should be working again!

just configure again your router.


Step 1 : Connect modem - Router - Computer ( Wired )
Step 2 : Open router setup by typing http://192.168.2.1 on the address bar of internet explorer
Step 3 : On the left side under internet WAN click Connection Type
Step 4 : leave the Password Blank and click submit
Step 5 : Choose the connection type as dynamic and click next
Step 6 : Leave the Host name blank and click apply
Step 7 : On the left Under Internet WAN Click MAC Address
Step 8 : Click Clone and Click Apply changes
Step 9 : If the Internet status on the top right is connected
Step 10 : Then check if you have internet
Step 11 : if not Then unplug the Power Cable from the Modem And the Router
Step 12 : Plug the power Cord to the Modem
Step 13 : Wait till all the lights are on
Step 14 : Plug the power to the belkin
Step 15 : Check the color of the light in the belkin
Step 16 :If green then Check if you have internet
If not working then call belkin

Step 1 : Connect Router - Computer ( Wired)

Step 9 : Click apply changes
Step 10 : on the left under wireless click channel and SSID
Step 11 :Change the Wireless channel to 6
Step 12 : Change the SSID to a different name ( no Spaces )
Step 13 : Click apply changes
Step 14 : Now Scan and connect to this network ( Wireless )

Connect Router - Computer (Wired)

Open router Setup by typing http://192.168.2.1 on the address bar of your web browser (Internet Explorer)

On the left under wireless Click Wi - Fi Protected Setup (WPS)

leave the password Blank And click Submit

Disable it and click apply changes

On the left under wireless click security

Select the Security mode as WPA

Type the password that you want in the blank box for pre shared key (PSK)

Click Apply changes

On the left under wireless click channel and SSID

Change the channel to 6 , Change the SSID to a different name ( Make sure it is not the name that you used before)

Click apply changes

Unplug the Power cord from the router

Restart the computer

Plug the Power Cord back to the Router

Now try to connect to the new network you just setup

I understand this problem with Belkin router.
Just follow these steps and let see if they work for you.

step 1 you might want to restart the modem than router and wait for like 1 min this Belkin router blinking orange to green.
step 2 look at the back of your Belkin wireless router there will be reset hole(reset key )
step 3 press that key using a pen or any other paperclip and hold it for 45 seconds now leave it and restart the router

Belkin G Wireless Router Not funciontoning: Power Light is Off


Its dead Jim.

I had one of those. Dead.

You can try hitting the reset button. Looking at the back there should be a small hole with a tiny button. Use a staightened paper clip or other object to hold it in for at least 30 seconds. That should set it back to factory defaults.

Doing that brought mine back to life momentarily , but it kept going out after a couple of hours and I had to repeat the process until it finally gave up the ghost for good.

Belkin wireless stopped working.


try to reset the router...
Restart = take out the power cable and wait for 20 sec than plug it back
  • Restart the modem (cable/dsl modem)
  • Now restart the router and computer also and wait for 2 min .
  • See if this get you belkin wireless router online .

I unplugged the cable connected to my desktop and the wireless function stopped working
